  7. The wife and I were walking the dog up to channel piers just before dinner. There was definitely a strong wind out. I was wondering how it was affecting the fishing. Sent from my SM-A156U1 using Great Lakes Fisherman Mobile App
  8. Good report. Some very nice fish in that crowd. Larger fish are starting to appear! I wish meat was less expensive. Sent from my SM-A156U1 using Great Lakes Fisherman Mobile App
  9. That 8# king will be good eating. What size is your boat? Sent from my SM-A156U1 using Great Lakes Fisherman Mobile App
  10. Two good reports, nice 10# king. Hot weather fishing is tough. Hate those bugs. Try some sort of lotion with lavender as an ingredient. Sent from my SM-A156U1 using Great Lakes Fisherman Mobile App
  11. Nice bunch of cohos! Sent from my SM-A156U1 using Great Lakes Fisherman Mobile App
  12. Nice cooler full of fish! Love those glow spoons. Good setup. Sent from my SM-A156U1 using Great Lakes Fisherman Mobile App
  13. When he hit the 350cu, I was just in the process of getting ready to change its lure when the board took off and went like a rocket away from the boat. I thought this was going to be a big one, and I had to be careful as I pulled it in so I would not lose it. Then comes the most important part, holding the pole in one hand and the net in the other. This is where solo fishing gets to be a heartbreaker, and it takes the utmost coordination to bring your catch onboard instead of watching it slip off your hook. When you are successful, you feel like you crossed the finish line. When you fail, you feel like you forgot you running shoes when you came to the race. 14. Solo 6:50am-11:45am, 1/3, 15#-7oz king. Lost two others, one on rigger and other on orange wire diver. Fished 100-145fow. Marked lots of bait and a few large fish. 1) 350cu with dancing anchovy (7:40am), in 124fow on S troll.(15#-7oz king). At the cleaning station, some fished 50-70fow and got 2-3 kings@ 5-6#. When the sun came out, others had better bites but the same size. Surface temp was 57.6°, and the wind was 6.9 mph but picked up, and waves started a 2ft chop. Fish were definitely in the 40-80 range. Sent from my SM-A156U1 using Great Lakes Fisherman Mobile App
  15. Nice catch. I'm glad the report helped. Fish bites have been tough this spring. I used my small boat 16-1/2' to give a smaller footprint (quieter) hoping it would make a difference. I think it did. Sent from my SM-A156U1 using Great Lakes Fisherman Mobile App
  16. I'm glad your boat is fixed. You might get some larger kings in the evening. Good luck! Sent from my SM-A156U1 using Great Lakes Fisherman Mobile App
  17. Fished solo 45-70fow, 6:30-12pm, 3/5 all kings, 5#, 7# & 8#, two on riggers and one on wire diver with orange disk. Lost one on a fly by bite and one when I went to net him. I gave him to much slack when I went to reach for the net. He saw his chance to jump the hook and he did. Dam net man! Riggers were down 30 & 52 ft, in 56fow both times. Ball temp were 47-48°, sog 2.3-2.4, W & S troll. dipsy was 70 back set 3. Bites came at 6:48am(5#) Double Trouble mag, 9:43am(7#)Artic Ice mag and 11:33am(8#)(dipsy bk 70),Mixed veggie mag. Lake was flat, wind 0-5mph, surface temp 54°. Had one rider stuck on my rigger. This could have been a doubleheader if a king would have bitten. Lots of scattered fish, small and a couple of large bait balls . Sent from my SM-A156U1 using Great Lakes Fisherman Mobile App
  18. 8# king, good eating. Sent from my SM-A156U1 using Great Lakes Fisherman Mobile App
  19. It helps me to put double the spoons +sliders in to form a bait ball and attract some fish into biting, especially when you only have 3 rods to fish. Sent from my SM-A156U1 using Great Lakes Fisherman Mobile App
  20. Fished solo, 4/4, 7:20am-12:20pm, fish kept were 5.6#, 6.7# & 6.8#. The 1st king was small so I tossed it back. Everyone I talked to at the cleaning station said theirs were about the same size. 1) DR took 1st one with bloody nose mag at 48ft down, temp was 44.6°,West troll, 2.6sog in 142fow @7:25am tossed him back. 2) DR took 2nd one, bloody nose mag at 48ft down, temp 46.7°, west troll, 2.6 sog in 165fow @7:42am, 5.6# king 3) DR took 3rd one, bloody nose mag at 48ft down, temp 45.6°, west troll, 2.6sog, on 209fow @8:05am, 6.8# king 4) 350 cu with dancing anchovie mag, took last one in 212fow @8:45am, 6.7# king Fished 130-225, marked fish 120-165, then a gap between 165-212, then they were mostly from the surface to 70ft. Surface temp 48°, wind 5-8mph, lake 1 ft waves. No bites on divers, or flashers or other boards or lines leadcore except for cu mentioned. Adjusted other DR to various depths but no bites. One lamprey hitched a ride today. Sent from my SM-A156U1 using Great Lakes Fisherman Mobile App
  21. What a bad moment that must have been. But I'm glad you could steer with the autopilot and kicker. Good backup huh. Smart move. Sent from my SM-A156U1 using Great Lakes Fisherman Mobile App
  22. I hadn't plan on going out today, but looking at the bouy suggested that the 2ft forecast wasn't right. Launched at 7:30am fished until noon. 2/2 , a small king in 130fow of water, which I probably had dragged around for a hour. Second was a 11# king hiding in the shallows of 40ft from the surface. I bagged her in a 192 fow, on the same rigger also, down 40ft. Ball temp was 46.7, sog 2.6, west troll. Both fish caught with bloody nose mag. Fished from 100-210fow. Waves were flat to 3ft at time, but slow rollers. Rain never came. A little cool out there. Also lots of boats. No hits on divers or boards (170,230 250,300), or varied lengths leadcore or flashers. Riggers were varied down to 175fow. Sent from my SM-A156U1 using Great Lakes Fisherman Mobile App
  23. A lot of people cast from the piers for walleye. Figure on casting for 4 hrs on the average to get one. I haven't seen many boats trolling or jigging for them this year as in the past. Usually, they are very noticeable. But it is always backup plan when I can't get out on the big lake. Sent from my SM-A156U1 using Great Lakes Fisherman Mobile App
  24. How was the fog? Sent from my SM-A156U1 using Great Lakes Fisherman Mobile App
  25. Fished 8am-12:45pm. Only got a small coho. LOTS of marks 124-135 fow. Couldn't get any other bites. Bite came on rigger with std 5 eyes RV, down 38ft, water temp was 43.1 at ball, 2.4 sog. No hits on boards with 6C thru 230 cu. Lots of marks down deep, ran riggers up thru various bands of depths. The lake was flat. The water surface temp was 45-47. The kings were evidently eating out of town this morning. Sent from my SM-A156U1 using Great Lakes Fisherman Mobile App
