  6. Fished Holland 8:30 am -12:30 pm. 80-105 FOW, 3-4' waves, surface temp 66. 2 for 3, SOG 2.4, DR 55 dwn 60' back with green flounder pounder got a 4.38# king. FC lead with Ed Ganger Glo at 2.6 SOG got a 8.11# steelhead. But the real excitement came when a large steelhead took my 3 Color with a glo berry, jump 15' in the air, broke and my line a 100 ft from the boat. I lost my church board as it slid down the line. We looked for about 20 minutes with no luck to try and recover it. The capping waves made it difficult. So it has my name and number should you find it? LB
  7. Just got into town, staying at Anchorage Marine. Hope to get out in the am, will report. Thanks for the report. LB Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Great Lakes Fisherman mobile app
  8. Finally got to HB today. 1st time this summer, long ride from Macomb (2hrs). The lake was calm (glass). trip was 7:30-10:00 am, 1 for 2 a small lake trout (released back to the water),it was 18". Lost something on another line 5 color, it took my pink panties and snapped the line. I was in 75-90' marking several pods of fish NE of the harbor. I did a cloverleaf pattern back into the pod everytime. Water temp was 66 on the surface and 46 at 70'. DR down 70' and back 60' with a green flounder pounder took the lake trout. Water was clear, but the wind blew up into 4' waves. Too much for my littleboat and I headed back to the harbor. I wish it could have been longer but the everyone had the same idea once the wind began its blow. Pictures were just before the wind blew. LB
  9. Congrats on your catch by the way. I have a 16 1/2 ' Crestliner sport angler and was wondering how well the smaller boats do in larger wave conditions. I realize it's all on how well you handle the boat, besides it size. Thanks for your input. LB Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Great Lakes Fisherman mobile app

  13. Port Sanilac 7 - 11am 6-27 2 for 2 (lake trout) in 80'-90', SOG 2.6mph, 5 color with either pink panties or orange crush lure, figure 8 troll w-e waves were flat to 1', water was very clear. Temp at surface was 58-60. DRs, dipsys and 1 color took nothing. Changed lures often, SD and flys, even a spatter back j-plug. Fish were 3-3 1/2 # 22" LB Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Great Lakes Fisherman mobile app
  14. I mounted my X4D far away from the drive and just a couple of inches to the inside of the trim tabs. The readings are rock solid. As mentioned you have to use your GPS speed for the surface, since they used that display for the ball depth. The unit is great, no wires on a cable to deal with or wear out/replace. LB
  15. Added depth, speed and temp readings. We were on a SW-SE troll SW of harbor. LB
  16. picture of 1st mate, and fish most caught 50' range with the bottom being between 65-78'. temp was 48.7 and speed a ball was 2.5 with my new X4d (love it). We had gone out to 210' but wit no success. LB
  17. I was in 78' of water. Fish were caught in 50". I will send pics once I'm on a bigger computer. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Great Lakes Fisherman mobile app

  20. Sounds like a plan. I don't have to work (retired 2 years ago). I normally don't fish the weekend or holidays to give the working people their time to enjoy the activity, unless the weather has just been terrible during the week. LB
  21. Fished from 6:30am to 11 Friday at Port Sanilac. Lake was calm, went 4 for 4. Depth was 50-70'. Bites came between 7:30 and 9:20am, Stopped after that. 3 fish were between 4-5#, 1 was 3.5#. Only 3-5 boats out all morning. Had some good conversation on 68 with Second Chance. We helped each other work the area. DR down 48' out 60', Green flounder pounder (moonshine), lake trout 5C, high line lure (moonshine) on board , steel head 1C, monkey puke (silver streak) on board, steel head Mono line with blue dolphin (Deamweaver), on board with 4oz dive bomb, Lake trout sog was 2.3-2.6 gps, temp was 49-52, troll was zig-zag north to sound and s-n same Good Fishing to everyone, hope this helps everyone for the weekend. LB
  22. Good report. Heading over to GH this week. The higher speeds seem to bring on the bites. North or south of the harbor? LB
  23. Great looking fishing. Coming out to GH this week, for the rest of the summer. Good report. LB
  24. I certainly will be trying different combinations of things and see were the bite ends up. Thanks for the information. Stay in touch. LB
  25. The fish I have caught off Lexington this year all came off boards with a 70-100 leads in back of the board. They were in shallow water with crank baits (thinfish and raps). I have one manual down rigger, but it can hold up to a 20# ball. I have a 1-5 color adjustable lead core and a straight 5 color lead core. To get deeper without adding more rods with longer leads, I plan on adding dive bombs to them. I also have divers to use. I carry six rods, but only 3 can be in the water, but it lets me change faster and change lures when time permits. I usual fish alone in my small boat with my auto pilot as my silent partner. I have been watching the reports and now that the fish are going deeper, do most of your bites come on spoons, flies , cut bait or something else that I may have missed on the eastside? LB
