    I agree. It's all about THEM. I call it video mentally, where it turns into a tunnel vision effect, wiping out the world around them. It's unfortunate, they will miss alot and their "manners" will probably push the button on the wrong person someday? I think I'm going to go back to fishing in the AM, where there are less people.

    0 for 1, all I was able to get was a release on a DR with a meat rig. Earlier saw a boat drifting with what looked like no people in it. Pulled my lines to go and see if they had lost power or worst. I wasn't the closest boat, but evidently the only one who would do it. I went over and fortunately they were OK. They were just drifting 5 miles off shore and enjoying it. Very unsettling when someone is concerned that something worst may have happened. They thanked me, but I wished they had done it closer to shore. Also, people at the launch ramp evidently don't know what "good manners" mean. I was cut off by non fisherman while trying to launch my boat, while I was waiting for others to get their act together retrieving their boat. What a mess at the dock. I guess it's about THEM!

    Good catch considering the conditions.

    If I catch several fish I just go to the dnr station at holland. If I catch just one or l just don't want to drive down there that night, I pull out a my fish table (you can buy one between 60-90$) have my hose and drain bucket handy and clean the fish. I take the guts and put them in a separate bucket with a lid and take them to the dnr station and put them through the grinder. I keep the bucket outside until I make the trip. It keeps the mess out of the house. I put a raymarine autopilot on my littleboat for fishing. I fish alone almost all the time. It's not cheap, but it's the best.

    Great catches and pictures. How did you handle the steering while you were netting the fish?

    Did you 300 with the meat rig have anything else with it, such as a paddle or sd?

    Amazing how it is great to be at the right place and right time, having those almost instant hits. Nice size king!

    Thanks for that update, that's amazing about the catfish and the others. I knew alot of them were bottom feeders, but I'll have to be more careful when I use any lure with the word veggie in it?

    Fished 5-6:30, had to cut it short. The waves 3ft+ and chop proved too much for the littleboat. But not 1st without going 1 for 1. 113 fow, north troll, 2.2 sog, 8 color leadcore with a uv veggie spoon. I could not believe what I pulled up way out there? A 6lb plus CARP! I pulled it up to the transom got out my pliers and pulled the hook out of its mouth, letting it swim away. This was a first for me.

    Currents were odd as the day moved along. Experienced similar conditon somewhat.

    There seemed to be alot of chatter out there, sounds like there were some goods bites being had. I'm glad they saved me at least the LAST fish in the lake though. I don't know what everyone will be doing after today. The wife and I worked hard for this one. It was hot out there.

    Late start 9:30am-1:30pm, 1 for 2, 8.22# king off dr down 89' back 60 with green uv meat rig and wonderbread sd. Bite was at 12:38pm. Sog 2.2. South troll in 124fow. 2nd hit was on a wire diver meat rig blue ice, back 130 set 2 with glow green pearl flasher. Fish spit it out after a short struggle. 1:30pm time of hit. 95 fow.

    Great catch. The heavier guys always seem to come out during the late morning to midday. Now my wife will tell me she can sleep in! Do you see the problems you guys are causing me, with such a great story.

    If we didn't have tough days/nights fishing. We wouldn't ) appreciate the good ones as much. It's the old adage "that why they call it fishing, not catching". There is always tomorrow.

    Did you have alot of weeds on your lines that you had to pull your lines into clear?

    It's a Moonshine 3.75" length spoon, but not a casting spoon. It is heavy. You would think it would be, because of the weight.

    Fished 6-11 I thought I was going to give my lures a good washing today. Very few marks. Did the 80-120 fow trip down to tunnel park, which was turning out to be very uneventful. Picked alot of weeds off my lures. Then as luck would have, some 6# plus size steelhead, decided to throw himself upon my hook. That was it, nothing afterwards. Good thing I took a previous blogger advice and sharpened my hooks. Thanks! With all that said, hit came at 8:54am, in 120 fow on a 200 copper (32#) with a mongolian beef spoon super glow 4", north troll, 2.7 sog, water temp 72.
