Well I was finally able to finish the deal on the 1988 290 XF that I found last fall. It has been a long wait, but after the initial survey, and a very long winter, I was able to sea trial, and complete the deal. Here are a few pics from last week, I will add more as the new toys are added!!! She has 2007 5.7l crusaders with 200 hours on them, 4 blade wheels, all systems have been replaced, going to up date electronics over the next 2 years. She will be spending the next part of her life in fresh water on Lake Ontario trolling for King Salmon and trout. Stay tuned for more updates!! At the launch in New Bedford, MA [img width=1000 height=750]http://i980.photobucket.com/albums/ae281/NYGUIDESERVICE/Mobile%20Uploads/1396478794.jpg Warming her up after a long sleep!! My new work area. The cabin. The storage area. The Large enclosed head. She sure does get up and move!!!! Here she is after her 300 mile trip west, she is in Sodus, NY getting ready for her new toys!!! Capt. Rich

We will be up to finish the rigging next weekend. It is going to be a long week and a half!!!! Check out the website for our open dates, hoping to have her floating weekend after Easter!!! The browns will pay for this long cold winter!!!! Capt Rich

Yesterday I had the pleasure of taking Chris and Justin out on the river or a day of Steelheading. The morning started very early as I was anticipating a busy day and I was correct, lots and lots of traffic. However, the fish wanted to cooperate, it was a mix of baits and plugs but we managed to put a bunch in the boat and last a bunch more. The weather...... Well let's just say we had it all yesterday, wind , rain, snow, sunshine , calmness, sleet, back to snow, 40mph gusts that pushed the boat upriver . I don't have the pictures just yet but when I get them I will post them. Thanks Chris and justin it was a great day . Hope to do it again soon -dj

River report from yesterday and today coming a little later, but the best news is..... The east end of lake o is finally open!!! As I sit here on the lake shore I can see down into the bay, there is some ice down there, but it is getting pummeled by west winds and waves 4-6'. There are areas of floating chuck ice moving down into the bay, but the end to the nice is very very near!!! It won't be long now!!! Capt Rich

Took a ride out to the mouth of the LSR, straight out to 15_20' is solid ice, then a straight line out to nine mile, out to 50-60' and back into catfish is solid ice. With the south wind it pushed the rest of the ice north, but it will be back. Back in towards Sage and around over to the big river is locked up out to 30-40'. Come on momma nature we have BTs waiting to crush our baits!!!

Dave, Are you still looking for a DR setup?? Let me know. Capt. Rich 315-436-8171 -
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, being a professional, I want something that is going to hold up to everyday use, and looks are the last thing I look at. Not many other products out there that allow you to put their holders in any configuration you want to best suit your needs. Good Luck on your Capts Pack, I am sure you will have many many years of enjoying this equipt. Capt. Rich

Great Lakes Planers are great products, and awesome to deal with, I own a set of the triple trees, and my buddy has the capts setup on his 29' Aquasport. Built like a tank, and looks great, you won't be disappointed!! Capt. Rich

Way to go Rich, won't be long and it will be KINGS!!!!! Bring on the big boys. Rich -
OK here is another update. Things have been tough, with the water temps being so cold. But it is starting to shape up, going to be a quick spring on the river. IMHO We have been averaging 3-8 hook ups every time out, wont be long and all hell will break loose. Fish have been coming on bags, beads, and now the plugs are starting to get slammed. Enjoy the fish porn. My first fish on the plugs: Saved the best for last, this is my second fish on the plugs, and the biggest on board so far this year. This fish went to the taxidermist. Measurements were 34" long and 17.5" girth, puts it about 15-16lbs. Awesome fight, Jess did a great job on the rod. Hoping to be out on Saturday with the princess!!!!!! Rich

SWEET JOB, Cant wait to get back on the river Saturday. Keep it up. Rich -
Here is a few pics from the past few weeks. It has been off and on, depending on the flow and if we get any sun to warm the water. I have a couple trips next weekend. There has been a good number of fresh coming in, but with the flow dropping, expect that run to slow way down. Hopefully with the snow we got the past couple of days, they will bring the flow back up. Sacs have been taking the majority of the fish lately. Enjoy:

Here is the biggest to come off the boat last year. 32.3 lbs weighed in 7 hours after being caught. This got Nate 1st place youth div. in the Fall LOC and 9th place adult div.

I have 6 of the doks, 2 for the mags, and 4 for the reg size dipseys, they work great. No more tangled leaders, and as Yankee said, no more kinks. Now I have heard that some guys are running their dipseys with the doks left on, and gaining some extra depth. I am going to try this out when we splash down. I would highly recommend getting some. Thanks guys, I will do my best to continue with the pics and reports. Yes it is better than sitting in the ice shanty, esp when the grill comes out. Ste, steaks, venny sausage, and burgers so far. It sure does help with the kids, they r all good for almost all day now. Will be out a few times over the next week and a half. Rich -
Sorry for the lack of reports for the past couple of months, but it has been busy. Work has been crazy, and I also added a new toy/tool to my shed this past fall. I also completed my NYS guides license. So now it is time to have some fun. The following are a few pics from the past couple of months of the little time I have had to play. I will be out later this week with the kids, hoping to get them their first fish off the ride. Enjoy. She is taking over already. lmao I hope you enjoy the porn, more to come. Happy News Years to all my fellow Anglers. Rich

Ok here is a pic of the 32.3lb king taken by 12 yr old Nate Weaver from PA aboard the SEADUCKTION. This fish was taken on 8/28/09, with everyone entered in the LOC we knew we were good. It was taken on the dipsey out 220' in 100' north of the SR, on a green ehip pulling a Green Crinkle ATOMMIK fly. When I weighed it on the scale, it said 31-32lbs. I asked his dad Tim if he wanted to run it in, or conitue fishing. They wanted to fish, so in the cooler, loaded with water and ice it went. After 7 hours in the cooler it was weighed. DANGGGG should have run it in, oh well. We ended up with one other king, that my daughter caught, I will post her pic soon. The fish ended up taking big fish of the day, ended in 9th place on the adult board, he won the youth division. Nate did a great job on the rod. From what I hear, he is still smiling. This is the biggest king on the boat this year so far. Rich

AWESOME pics Mike, not very often you are able to get that close to mother nature. Have they been seen in that area before? Rich

I do the Bead thing also, but I also take an old snubber, LJ style and cut it into 3" pieces. I take the cord out of the center, and then put it on the wire above the bead. I use the knot that was posted. I reel the wire up tight to the rod tip like Mike said, this gives you a little more protection for the tiptop. It does not seem to bother the fish either. Rich
