  2. Here are a few for the past couple of years. I will get some better pics this spring of the whole setup out when I het the water. Most of these were taken off Wilson NY. Rich
  3. Tim, Thanks for the site, I put it in my favorites and will look at it in depth soon. That would be great if they brought back that mold, there was a lot of those boats sold. It sure is a great big water boat. It is almost time for some open water fishing. Rich
  4. Thanks a lot Skeiner. I sit down before bed, and now I am not going to be able to go to sleep. It is going to be a long few weeks before the boat goes in and you have to do this to me. I owe you big. LOL Thanks for views, we need more. Rich
  5. Tim, I tried last year for a few hours, we did get one, but the water was so clear. You are right salmon are a lot more fun to catch but it is nice to change up once in a while. I will fish browns out there if the water is dirty when I am out there. Rich
  6. Billy, Sounds good, although you will be missing the awesome browns that will be in there this year at home port. HMMM salmon or browns,I would keep the boat right where it is going to be.Can't wait, see you there. I am trying to get Werner to come out west for a few days.I will keep you posted on that. Rich
  7. It depends on how many guys I have on the boat. In the spring with the boards out I run up to 10 lines. When I am fishing deep, I will run up to 6 with 4 riggers and 2 wires, or I may throw in a Thumper. I am going to try running 2 dipseys on each side this year. Rich
  8. Here is the SEADUCKTION, on the trailer heading out west last spring. We are adding a T8 and a new Garmin GPS this year. Furuno FCV620 Garmin 545 (new this year) 4 Cannon electrics Subtroll Can't wait till open water.

  11. Billy, Shoot me a pm and if I can I might be able to meet up with you, I am supposed to be off next weekend. Werner and Toni are doing great, they were working on the house this weekend. Good Luck with the hunt just get it surveyed, I know you know that but just a reminder. Talk to you later. Rich
  12. Billy, The crowds have been pretty bad with the warm weather. The water came back up yesterday after the rain so maybe it will thin out again. I am going to try Oswego sometime real soon. The browns should be in the harbor and the steelies are up river, if it drops down a little more I will get after them. How is the boat shopping going? We had dinner with Toni and Werner last night. Thanks for compliments, dad is still smiling and grumbling about the big one he lost. good Luck if anyone gets out. I saw the coasties drive by the plant today in their RIB. Rich
  13. The fish were caught on White or pink sacs and also on the Pink Worm under floats. It was awesome. Rich
  14. I Took dad on his first driftboat trip down the Salmon River today. What a day we had on the river with Troy from High Adventure. The weather was awesome and fish even cooperated today. I can't remember the final tally, but I think we were 3 or 4 for 10 or some where around there. There was some traffic today so we worked the first spot pretty good and it paid off with 1 landed and at least 3 others hooked. I was lucky to land the biggest so far this season on Troy's boat. A big buck, taped out at 35" and weighed 15lbs on the boga grip. Dad was hooked up at the same time but he ended up losing it right before Troy could slide the net under it. That fish looked to be about the same size but it was a female. We worked our way down river and took or hooked fish in some other holes along the way. Dad's fish was 7lbs on the boga and the last one I have a pic of was 8lb on the boga. I also caught a couple Atlantic smolts that are in the river but they were not counted for the tally. It was a great day, great company and awesome weather and fish that even cooperated. We kept asking ourselves if it was really January 4th. I hope you like the pics, sorry about the long post. Good Luck. Rich
  15. Billy, I don't want you be feel left out, I also run the sg47lc's. I am replacing 4 of my reels with these this year. The Tekotas are too rich for my blood at this time and the 47's have never left me stranded. Good Luck and Happy New Year. Rich
  16. Billy, I figured you were asking for the new boat. lol I hope santa brings you everything you want. Good Luck. I want his book also. Have a Merry Christmas. Rich
  17. Yes that is what I said. I can only listen to the old man so much before I give in about fishing for the warm water species. I have to say it sure was fun for the little guy, it kept him busy for a couple of hours. I have now had my bass fill for the year. Now it is back to the cold water species for me, if mother nature allows. Rich
  18. Finally was able to hit the Big O after a 4 week hiatus. Headed over to Ray's Bay area and set up for browns. Fished from 30-60 fow, most fish we saw were in 50'. We did take 1 brown on a White/Blue ladder back Slammer spoon down 29 over 45. We also took a bass on Dipsey out 100' on a 2 setting. After 3 hours of trolling we headed into Sawyers Bay and really spanked that bass. The key to the bass was to cast up into 4' and keep the lure just above the slim. We caught over 45 bass in 2 hours. My son loved it, he was going from pole to pole reeling them in and he even caught a couple on the worm. I will post a pic of the brown tonight after I get out of work. Good Luck. Here is the brown that we got. Not sure why the pic is so hazy. After pic he was released to get bigger for someone else. Here is the little guy putting the hurt on the little bass that hit the dipsey and the pic of him and his trophy. Here is the one pic that we got after we went in shallow. Good Luck. Rich
  19. Midway, Are you going to be bringing your boat in June? My boat is in Henderson for the summer or else I would offer to use mine. Let me know I might be able to get in touch with a buddy of mine for his boat. Let me know. Rich
  20. Skeiner, Nice report, glad to see someone got out this weekend. Wish I was still out in the western basin myself. Rich
  21. It is the same thing as a super ball rig. You can use wire or braid, attached to 3 way swizel or trolling rudder with a dodger and fly behind it 6-8 feet. You can tell how fats your trolling speed is at depth with using a down temp/speed unit. It was the first time I used, so it was great to see it fire, esp when it is part of a double. This rig works great for lakers on the bottom and will produce your biggest fish most consistantly. Good Luck, hope to get out this weekend. Rich
  22. Tuesday was another awesome sunrise and the seas were flat again. I made the decision to head a little east out of the chute and we set up in 100 fow. The screen was filled with fish from 85' out to 115'. So I set the 5 rod setup with 2 riggers, 2 wire dipseys and a Thumper rod. We missed the first hit on a Green pro troll/ GBP ATTOMIK om the dipsey set at 160. The next 2 fish were little guys, one hit the Howitzer and one hit the Fishlander Glow Froggy mupp rig down 69'.Set up the rods again abd the Fishlander lite up again this time with an 18lber. It continued like this for our entire stay on the water which ended way to early. We pulled the plug on the trip at 1045 am since I had some family obligations to attend to at home. The final count for a little over 3 hours fishing was 12 for 17. All of these fish came in the 85-115 fow area, it was nice to have the boats leave the area and the fish continued to hammer our offerings. The biggest fish tipped the scale at a hair over 22lbs again. All the fish were released to fight another day, so maybe that 22lber will be close to 35lbs by the fall loc. All in all we had an awesome trip, my cousin is no longer a virgin to the Spring kings of the western basin. He has already reserved his spot for the trip next year. Our best riggs for the trip : Wire: Howizter rig out 30' on a #3 setting, this took alot of fish, and what a blast to watch that rig get hammered. I missed what I think was a big Steelie on this rig on Friday. I saw the fish and it was in the 15lb class, wish I could have put a net under it. The pro troll Green on Green with the ATOMMIK packer fly was consistant for us also. Riggers: Ealy morning was the Fishlander Glow Froggy mupp rig down 69'. Also thye White on White SPin Dr with a white ATOMMIK fly and a free sliding stinger Orange/gold spoon, with the rig set at 40' down. As the sun came up the Kevorkian glow spook mupp rig took over for the spoons. Then when the sun really got up it was the Fuzzy Bear Blue Dolphin mupp rig down 69', and the stinger was changed to a NK Orange Crush slider. Thumper rig only had a LJ Trash Can with a green strip and a Green ATOMMIK fly on it the 2 days I got to run it. This was the first time I ever ran a Thumper so it was nice to see it work and watch it fire. I will have more pics when I get dad's digital movie camera and get some stills off from it. Here are a few from the our last morning: Andhere is the last fish to come aboard, he might be big but he fought like he was big. Afterit was all over our final count was 45 for 58. Hope everyone likes the report, sorry it was so long, but it is hard to get everything down that happens when the fishing is so good. Good Luck guys. Rich
  23. Monday started the same as Sunday with us in the shallows for Browns but no one was home. We scooted out after 2 passes and hit the 100' mark, marking fish as we set up. The first rod to fire was the Howitzer rig with a little guy, but hey it was a fish. After that the Dr K. spook mupp rig fired with a nice 20lb salmon down 60'. The Dr. K rig fired one more time before I changed to a Blue Dolphin mupp riggthat took an other jack. The Nk Orange crush free slider took 4 raps including a laker that must have taken a good hit of speed that morning since we were moving along at 3.3 mph. A quick pic and away he went. I finally got to put out my Thumper rig on this day, and low and behold I got it to fire with a LJ Trash can with a green strip with an ATTOMIK green fly. This fired about 30 seconds after I hooked up with my biggest fish off the rigger with a pro troll echip Green/ green with the ATOMMIK packer fly down 50'. The thumper was set out 225', dad stepped up to take that, he is now regretting that move. My fish tipped the scale at 22.20, we put him in the box for some steaks for the grill. The fish on the Thumper ended up being a 15lb king that we snapped a pic of and set him free. We ended the day 8 for 11, not a bad, but the best day was yet to come. Here is a pic of the first little guy, and one dad caught, the little laker on speed, the Thumper fish and the big guy that I got lucky enough to bring in. I will post the final day tomorrow I hope. Good Luck to those of you who get to fish tomorrow. Rich
  24. We had a blow day on Saturday and a small engine malfunction so we did not make it out on Saturday. Sunday dawned a beautiful day, flat seas and us looking for a brown for the board. I set up a 4 rod set with 2 on the board, one off the other side and 1 on a rigger with a fruit basket Stinger set 7' down. I was hoping for dirty water after the previous day's blow but it had cleared over night. We hit the mouth of a creekjust west of Wilson and the rigger fired. It felt a little heavy so hopes were high. It turned out to be a 8.86 lb brown, nice looking fish, after the pic it was released. Set up again and had a Smithwick fire off the board that ended up being a bass. One more pass and nothing so we headed deep after hearing from Nick(True Grit) that they were going pretty good. The same program from day one with the Howitzer rig keeping my cousin busy and the stinger slider doing it's job on the smaller kings and Cohos. The Kovorkian spook took a nice 18lb king down 69' again. We ended the day 11 for 14 with the last fish being and nice 18 lb king and the NK Orange crush slider. Another great day out in Wilson, more reports to follow later. A few pics : The brown: Anice king that ended up in the box since it was my cousin's first king in the sping: And the final take home for the day, we released alot of fish to fight another day: More to follow. Rich
  25. What a great day to start our trip out west. Great sunrise, flat seas, nice temps and a great pic on the ff. Got 4 rods get up since it was just dad and I for the first couple of days. We ran a 2 rigger 2 wire dipsey set up. The first rod to fire was set with a White/crushed ice Spin Dr with an ATOMMIK Packer fly set at 50' with an orange/ gold Stinger on a free slider. Dad was up first so I handed the rod off, after the initial run out to 375' on the counter the fish set in for a surface battle. With 200' of line out I see a little silver missle come flying out of the water, knowing that this was not the initial fish on the line I knew we now had 2 fish on 1 rod. After about 15 minutes I netted both fish, a nice chrome 18lb king and a 4lb coho. So now the old man is whooped for a little while, I reset the rods and back we go into fishing mode. The next rod to fire was a mupp rigg Fishlander glow froggy down 69', which seemed to be a magic depth again this year. This turned out to be another 18lber, which was released. the day continued like that for us with a mix of kings, cohos, and a steelie thrown in. We ended up the day 14 for 16 which I thought was a pretty good dayfor the first trip of the year. I had an exciting experience to day while trying to setup a blue dolphin mupp rig. Had the frist spoon set at 10 back and 5 down and was in the process of clipping on the pinned rig when the line was ripped out of my hand by the steelie. It ended up being about 5 lbs so we took a pic on dad's camera and let it go. We did some fish on a Howizter rig on the dipsey after that with a Chart/fire dot dodger and a blue fly out 30' on a 3 setting. The orange crush NK on a free slider kicked in as the sun got higher in the sky. Here is a pic of one of the other kings that was set free, and a pic of the 4 fish we kept that were hooked deep. Not a bad for us,what a way to start the trip. I will post the rest of the trip tomorrow. Wish I was still out there till the end of the derby. Rich
