  1. Here is the link to this years Fairhaven Challenge being held on Saturday August 25th at Screwy Louies. http://spoonpullers.proboards42.com/index.cgi?board=SouthShoreReports&action=display&thread=1186101004 This is a great one day derby with a great turnout and a chance to meet new friends and fish a new port or fish out of your own port and bring your catch to the weigh in. I will try to answer any questions if there are any. This is the original Challenge that has started the new series in Oswego county, I have to say Thank You to Werner Stenger for helping us get these going. Good Luck guys. Rich
  2. Ok here are the pics from yesterday off the wall. George was first up to bat, with nice king, this one came on the Savant Watermelon behind a watermelon dipsey, back 250. Then came a double, with Dave taking the Watermelon rig, and George getting the Froggy Jake rig. After 20 minutes or so we had both in the box. Next was dad on the Mickey Finn rig off the rigger. This fish literally inhaled the Jake into it's throat, I have never seen a fish take a lure this deep. Dave took another off the Watermelon rig. George took the last fish on the Froggy Jake rig, and then we headed for the barn. The boys were beat up pretty bad, but they were happy. Here is the crew with rewards for a good day on the water, glad to be back on the boat. I hope to be back up on Sunday if mother nature plays fair. Good Luck. Rich
  3. Great report Bill, good to see another one hooked for life, keep it up. Rich
  4. Frank, You are correct on that and that is what we have done. We had a 3 rigger setup this past weekend and they all had the same color and we had some awesome fish that is for sure. Rich
  5. Here is a pic of the hottest Savants for us over the past 3 weeks. The Watermelon and Mickey Finn Savant and the Froggy, Mickey Finn, Rainbow Sparkle, and the Bleeding Blue streak Jakes have been very consistent for us in the high sun/partly cloudy days. The Savant Green Glow Trout and the Coho Green Glow have been hot in the early morning and cloudy low light conditions. These have been run mostly off the riggers but the Savant Watermelon has been smokin off a watermelon Dipsey. Good Luck. Rich
  6. Finally was able to get out after some Sharks after hearing about a lot of people getting into them over the last week. Dad and I headed out into the trench, marked alot of bait along the pill boxes, but no active fish. There was a pack of boats off the wall so we trolled over to join in the fun. On our first pass we took a nice brown on a Watermelon with seeds Savant Jake on a free slider with the rigger set at 75'. We set back up and continued on, we saw a few fish caught, then some of the boats decided to leave and then all h-ll broke lose. We watched one boat in front of us double up, right after we passed them our Jake rod took a violent rip and I was locked into our first major of the year. After a 15 minute fight, and a little trouble at the back of the boat due to a poor net job, I was able to slide the net under a sweet 22lber. This fish just missed the board for the LOC. I set the rod back up after a couple of pics, turned around to get back on the wheel and the Jake took another violent hit. Now we are hooked into our second major in less than 2 minutes. This fish took us almost to the end of the spool, I figured I had 50 yards left before we were able to catch up to it. Dad had a good fight with this fish which ended up being a 17.5 lber on the scales. Both of these kings came on the Savant Jake in the Frog pattern pulled behind and ATOMMIK Twinkie Rig. The wind started to pick up and we headed toward the dock around 1245. The fish are there, but so are the boats. We worked the 95-120 feet area, with all the fish coming at 75 down. Good Luck to anyone the gets out there. I pulled the boat to head down for the Oswego ProAm and will have it back in next week. Sorry for the long report. Here are a few pics from today. The brown: The first King: The second King: The Savant Jake that did the damage: Rich
  7. I was not able to get out yesterday, winds out of the NNW 20-30, 3-4 fts in the harbor, did not even look fun out there. I will try to get out next week, I hope to hear some reports. I looke dout on the lake today at work, 3-5's out of the N with lots of white. Becareful if you venture out. Rich
  8. On the swim noodle I like to write the lb test leader on the end so you can keep them seperate. You could color code them also if you wanted to get fancy. It saves time and there are no kinks when you unwind them. Good Luck. Rich
  9. BF, It is not that we do not like to give out reports, it is just there is so many guys that will not give you a good report up there. The capt's like to keep it to themselves, but if they can't catch anything then they start crying, I love it whe that happens. We were all alone yesterday, and that is why the fish were active as long as they were. The fish went deep when the sun started getting high, keep that in mind. You were in the right are, keep at it, check the wall off the light house, the browns and eye will be there any time. Oh, the kings like to hang there also. I will be out next week, if I do anything I will report back, Good Luck this weekend. Rich
  10. A great day out on Lake O today, we finally put some Eyes in the boat this year. We got 1 brown on the rigger down 39 over 42 on a Stinger Alewive, about 6lbs. Another pass and on the turn back we had a big Eye hit the same spoon down 31 over 55, the little guy did a great job until the last 50 feet when he said" Daddy I can't do it any more". I took the rod, got the fish to 10 feet behind the boat, the fish came up and showed itself. I saw what looked to be an Eye about 12lbs, it opened it's mouth and did a head shake and the spoon came flyin out. I set the rigger back up and turn around and the 3 color core with a clown Husky Jerk takes off. I hand the rod to my cousin and he lands a beautiful 10lb eye. After a couple of pics, it is back in the lake. Set back up, get to our upper way point and the other rigger goes with a SAVANT Jake in the froggy paint, down 35 over 52. Dad grabs the rod and he is into his first Eye of the year, ends up being a nice 8lber, a couple pics and back in she goes. We had a little lull and we get back to our way point and the Savant fires again. Dad hands it off to Tommy, I hear " it is coming up", I look to see a sweet brown clear the water, est approx 12-15lbs, the fish lands on the 8lb leader on bye bye goes the fish with my Jake in it's mouth. Oh well, still a great day, we fished from 830 am until 100 pm and called it a day. A great looking screen most of the day, wish I could have been out there earlier. I hope you enjoy the pics. This last one is for Ray and Mary, I can't Thank You enough for the great service. Keep lokking for it to show up here. Hope this water stays like this for a while, Good Luck guys. Sorry for the being long winded. Rich

I then recieved the spoons which had to be ordered from Stinger while I was gone. They are great and I will order from them again. Thanks Again Ray and Mary. Rich
  13. Billy, Now you know the boat will catch fish, go out and have some fun. If you ever need anyone to give you a hand let me know. Good Luck in the derby this weekend. Wish I could join you guys. Rich
  14. Tom, That day is coming, I do that to my dad now.lol I get more out of it by rigging than actually the catching right now. Some day he will be doing the rigging and I will be doing the catching. Rich
  15. Bill, Can't wait to see your new ride, good luck this week. Rich
  16. Tom, Way to go on the shake down. That is one sweet brown, bet it was full of bait. Good Luck and thanks for the report. Rich
  17. Here are a few pics from Saturday with Irish Knots, Thanks a whole bunch Chris, he is asking when we can go again already. The first one is Chris with one that he was able to handle. They were all about the same size. We were 11 for like 15 I think. These nexy few are of the little guy, Dominick, 5 years old with a few of the 7 that he handled for the day. He is still talking about it. Most fish came on the stinger Diehard, NBK, or a couple of custom tape jobs that Chris did up. Again, Thanks for inviting us out on the boat, you are welcome to come aboard the SEADUCKTION anytime. Rich
  18. Rich, Nice lookin rig, sweet rigging job. Good Luck tomorrow on the water. Rich
  19. Billy, Sweet report, I hope I can be up in neck of the woods in a week or 2. I got the boat back today and will get it ready for next weekend. Nice pics, keep it up. Rich
  20. Rick, Glad to see some one was able to get and get into some fish. Nice report, and great pics. Hope it warms up soon. Rich
  21. Thanks for the report Larry, glad to see you had a good time. I hope to be in the water in 2 weeks. Rich
  22. Well, all I can say is that we got to wet our lines. The river was high and muddy. We fished for almost 3 hours and never hooked a fish. My cousin ahd a hit on a white bucktail tipped with a worm. Wrner's nephew Matt said he had a couple of hits on a jig also. We saw 4 fish landed up closer to the locks in the slower water. they were small rainbows, and 1 walleye. The guys were using egg sacs for the trout. I am hoping to get up there maybe Thursday, but I may use that day and work on the boat. the good times are coming, it need to warm a little more and then the bait will move in. I took the wife to Rudy's for lunch and the shoreline all the way from the harbor past Rudy's was covered with 12-15' high ice banks. It is going to be a good brown year. Good Luck if you get out. Jeff, it was nice to see you again, you did not miss anything after you left. Rich
  23. GLF, Not sure which riggers you are going with, but if you can get the adjustable booms that is the way to go. I have 4 cannons on my boat, most of the time I run only 2 or 3 of them. I have the adjustable booms on my boom riggers and can go to the 60" limit on them if I need to, but I usually run them on the 3' length when I am running just the 2 of them. Good Luck. Rich
  24. The water Level on the river is by far 7000 cfs. It is more like 20,000 cfs, the only place to fish really fish would be behind the hotels on the east side for a whilw any how. good Luck, Hopefully with the warm up coming next week I will be able to get up there. Rich
