I have only been in two tourneys. I am still refining my stratagy. Right now im working on catching 5 fish on tourny to weigh.

Nice. I was up there all week and had a blast. Sat we were 2-8 from 6-830..

What test is everyone using? I was using 20 lbs trilene xt and had 3 break offs. Could my off shore pad style caused the break offs. They were to close to the pole to be the knots

I had 3 break offs on the riggers last week. Where the fish hit and the line broke before i could get to them. After the first one i stripped 100' of line from all four poles but it happened 2 more times. 1 was screaming out drag and then nothing. They all broke off about halfway to the swival so i know it wasn't the knots. It sounds like i am staying with mono. I was using. 20lbs trilene xt.. NEW THREAD STARTED...

You had a nice box. I decided i an getting a smaller cooler so my two fish fills it up. That was an awsome event way funner than i thought it was going to be. That commitee put on a great show and great sponsors.

I pm'ed him about that ring earlier that was way cool. My wife said it made ours look like hoodish (Ghetto). LOL

Sweeet first fish... We were out of whitehall all last week. Our best depth in the am was 80-90 and 50-70 down on the riggers and 125&150 back on the divers.. Afternoon trips we started deep but didnt get a thing till we trolled back in to 90-80.. Also out if 48 fish last week only 1 came on a spoon. Everything else was on a11" white paddle and blue/green fly. And blue spin dr and blue fly.

We fished the DW of whitehall. We ended up 2-8. The very first fish of the day was able to get under or Dr cable over my wire diver and into my 250 copper before breaking off. Other than losing 3 lures in 10 min it was great time. every fish we had came on the blue tape spinny and blue Dw fly and the green spinny and green fly. Both setups were 70 down on the rigger and 150 back on a wire diver. In 80 feet. Dave and Kevin it was nice to meet you and be able to put a name with the faces. Hopefully Ill see you again at the Ramp. We'll be in Holland the end of August for 3 days of fishing

I think if i do switch i will be switching to a blacks or chaimbrlin release.

I was thinking of switching to fireline crystal. Does anyone use any braid/superline on DR? Also i use off shore pinch pad releases do you think it will hold these lines? Thanks

All this week iut if whitehall its been big blue and big white paddels. As far as depth in manistee. In the am he probably want to set up on the shelf and troll back and forth over thr drop.

It looks like we are going back out when it blows over in an hour or so

We only were able to set up for 1 hour cause of storms moving in. We blanked today 0-1. From the radio chatter that was about the sum of it. I talked to 4 diffrent boats and they only had 1 hit each. Side not small aluminum boats and thundee storms dont mix. As we were comming in we passed 3 small boats that were were setting lines lines as every other boat was heading in. I still havent seen that 14 tiller come in the channel. No fish is worth losing your life or gear for.

Made it out in 3' swells and ended up 2-5 80-115. 80 being the best 2 on wire diver back 150 with 11" DW Paddle & BW PROCTOLIGIST FLY Missed 1 on a DR down 70 fish has some new jewlery as he broke off after a 200' run. Missing 11" blue uv paddle an phillapeo popper fly Missed 1 on wire back 180 blue SD & BW bubble but fly Missed 1 on DR down 60 CLEAR cracked ice 11" paddel homosezwhat fly No wind tonight hopefully rain holds off and u get another report tomorrow.

In the 10's. 75-85'. Aprox 2 miles south in 80. Well marked. 3 black flags in a triangle orange ball bouy in center
