  1. I went to Chamberlain's last year and LOVE them. They will have a booth set up this year in Grand Rapids for the fishing show. It will be a good chance to see them and talk with Keith that makes them.
  2. Is the bite still tough at Hamlin ? I was there a week ago and didn't do so well. Worst trip to Hamlin in 30 years of fishing it.
  3. Merry Christmas to you also ! Winter came early here too. I was ice fishing last Saturday.
  4. Slip bobber on a dead stick rod while jigging a spoon or whatever I steal out of Adams shanty.
  5. And here I thought you would be HAPPY to hear that !
  6. You guy's are going to get sick of fishing with me this year ! New shanty and quad...I am ready.
  7. I was ice fishing just north of Grand Rapids last Saturday.
  8. Nice feeesh Ken. My boat is still waiting for a break in the weather, now that I am back from Florida.
  9. That is great news about the perch !
  10. He came in with a doe I watched them both for about 20 minutes before I could get a shot at him. He finally cleared the brush enough for me to squeeze a shot off into his chest. When I hit him he fell right over, then got up and took one bound and went down for good. It was one of my toughest shots to date, 125 yards through some thick blow down cover.
  11. Congrats on your deer. I enjoyed reading your post.
  12. I prefer pyramid sinkers on my main line with a swivel below the sinker and about a 3' leader down to the spawn. You want the sinker to be able to slide thru the line so the fish doesn't feel the weight of the sinker. I never use floaters, but they are made with little balls of styrofoam tied in with the spawn in the spawn bag.
  13. From my experience, steelhead spawn works best.
  14. I do my venison backstraps in a vacuum sealer with liquid marinade and freeze them. Iv'e been doing that for many years now and never had a problem. Meat is still good a year later. I just put the meat in the bag add some marinade and seal.
  15. Good job Eli ! LOL You too Jason. Bet it was nice not to have to trailer the boat !
  16. I run my riggers 4' apart on the sides and the width of my transom down the middle. And I run 2 dipseys per side plus my core out on planers. So I am running, 4 riggers, 4 dipseys and at least 2 core rods on my 19' Yar Craft.
  17. I run two batteries in tandem for all of the electronics and my lights. I also have bimini mounted rear facing lights for night fishing. If you put lights in the front they by law cannot innerfear with your bow lights. In other words, other boats have to be able to see your red/green lights. I have found it best to rely on your own night vision while operating after dark And I do a fair amount of night fishing.
  18. Been wanting to do that trip for years. Someday.......
