  3. you can find a set of hand cranks for cheep,i just sold a pair of bj with 4 foot booms ready to fish for 150 bucks, buy a cheep set use them for a year or two till you can get elect.and pass them along.i my self could not go without riggers but i have a bit of a problem when it comes to fishing equipment,i cant buy enough of it:thumb:good luck out there this season
  4. thats what i like to hear,i have one on its way:thumb:
  5. second that.worked down ther for a month,it ended up costing me money
  6. the challenger lynx, now discontined. is a great baite in the fall for browns on my boat.the metallic rainbow trout has put 2 master anglers and lots of smaller fish in the box for me.i have not played with any of the others yet
  7. i was not sure about them untill i ran them a few times and worked out the bugs.i have switched to all z boards now.i have not had any issues with them breaking from adjusting them.great board in my opinion:thumb:
  8. i have 12 of them 4 of the big daddys and 8 of the brothers.they take a little adjusting and you have to loose the pushpin release.i replaced them with offshore pinch pads,i switch between the red and black depending on conditions and what i am running.they get farther out to the side than any other boards i have used
  9. they said they had to order them, they were out.they just wrote a note on the invoice but they charged my card for the whole order.they did not try to call me or email me to let me know so i could tell them to send what they had and drop the rest.they had 2 months to get them back in stock and send them out but they did not.it took almost 3 week to get what i did get.
  10. DO NOT ORDER FROM WWW.ALLSEASONSSPORTS.COM I PLACED A ORDER FOR SOME STICK BAITES WITH THEM ON NOV.13TH,THEY CHARGED THE WHOLE ORDER TO MY CARD AND STILL HAVE SENT ONLY HALF THE ORDER.I CALLED TODAY AND THEY ACTED LIKE THATS NOT A BIG DEAL:mad::mad:
  11. on the chamberlains you can crank down the release to the fish as hard or as soft as you want depending on conditions, you can also adjust the tension to the rod separate.making it a lot easer to get the bow out of your line, having the rod preloaded to its max takes a lot of slack out of the line when a fish releases too.they are the only release i have used that you preload the rod with enough tension to make the drags on my rigger rods creep and still have a 10 inch king release or pull a 11 spindoctor 120 feet down at2.8 mph in 3 footers.i am not knockin the blacks but the chamberlains are a lot more adjustable.they are a little more money but when you allready have $50 grand or more wraped up in to a boat and gear what is $10 bucks more:thumb:
  12. all i run are the chamberlains.you cant beat them when the shaker kings are around.
  13. i have run the big jons for years.i did break a boom once, due to the boom not being screwed in all the way.called big jon and they overnighted me one at no cost.i am going with new riggers myself this spring.going with the brutes or a set of ciscos.
  14. i could not live without mine,we loose power every time the wind blows it seems like:( we lost power at 11 this morning and it just came back on at 1am.
  15. it will all depend on mother nature and her spring attitude.we start in march some years and others it is mid april.
  16. they are fishing on the cuts of wixom lake ,they had 2 inches yesterday morning.they started going out on wensday.i allready got a limit of gills in the freezer and i have not even hit the ice:thumb:
  17. the sea star hydrolic systems are easy to install, took less than a day to do mine.i changed over from a no feedback system and it was worth every penny.
  18. i will second switching to hydrolic steering, after one season with the hydrolic and i will never have cables again.
  19. i run my chamberlains past 130 dwn at 3.0 mph with no problems
  20. here are a couple we got last weekend, the second one hit before we got the first one in the box:thumb:
  21. here is a chamberlain release in action, with this much preload, only 1/2 pound of pressure to release.

    My SS-235

Best thing you can do is hitch a ride and see other rigs in action. Everyone fishes a little different and usually always pick up a little something from every strange trip i go on.
  23. i had the otters and for walleye fishing they were ok but hated them for salmon for thereasons stated above.you have to make a lot wider turns with big boards too.
