  1. i am in the process of building my dream boat and on my last 2 i have had transom mount transducers.i have had to replace them boath ,one because of failure(lowrace of course) and one raymarine because the plastic tab to lock it down broke off.i am thinking of going with the thru hull this time and was wondering if the performance is better with the thru hull?what your opinion?
  2. you still might get a ticket for them being on the boat while you are fishing.when you are running dogs, everybody involved even just riding along in the truck must have a licence.most lickly will depend on what co you run into.like the rest of the guys suggested make them buy a daily pass for $7 and avoid the problem alltogeather.
  3. thats why i buy 10 at a time, now the wall in my garage is stocked better than the baite shop:D
  4. i would not go out on the big lake without 2 motors, let alone one that i was not sure about.go with a full rebuild or a reman like the others said.
  5. starcraft, best value for the money and hewscraft if you want the flat out best.that my opinion:thumb:
  6. we were out there yesterday, stayed away from the other boats.we ended up with a nice mixed bag 3 lakers,5 coho a king and a steelie.most of our fish came on core and small silver streaks.fish were in 30 to 45 fow with 2,3 and 5 colors taking the most fish:thumb:we were in the starcraft fishmaster.
  7. don, those new uv patterns i picked up at the show rocked em out of port sanilac mon.thanks

  8. what spoons are you talking.franks in linwood has some of the new uv patterns.we whacked em mon on them.
  9. you will like the stackers when they come out,i played around with them last fall, great tool for someone with only 2 riggers.keith put a lot of time and work into developing them.
  10. i set them so they will just hold the lure and as much preload as i can get for the hos and small fish.
  11. yes you can but be ready to spend some time on the phone getting it turned on and off.
  12. would not hit the water without it.the best feature to me is being able to see where there are lightning strikes are.the temp map is helpfull but not as detailed as the computer versions, they use diffrent colors to show the temps.major breaks do show up.the only downfall is dealing with sirius customer service.dont give them a credit card number, they like to just charge whatever services on it they see fit.my wife spends 1 to 2 hrs every year dealing with those morons i have the raymarine versoin,i think they differ a little from raymarine to lowrance and the birds
  13. 360s?big jons or ciscos?i run 4 of the ciscos for my riggers,i love the adjustability and and not having the tube cap to loose
  14. and you can get them in a ratcheting version now too.i just added a pair and they are nice.ciscos are tough to beat too
  15. you wont be disapointed.chamberlains are the only releases i run now:thumb:
  16. i have atleast 25 of each and they both have there days.the red tiger is the standout in the brads for sure and it a tie between the red, orange and tigerfire in the thin fins for me.i also have a bunch of the old school thin fins that rock to:D
  17. they set the lowest advertised price,if you look you will find guys willing to deal on just about everything these days.
  18. i did a lot of searching and tony beat all of them:thumb:
  19. big jons,my elec. captains packs have been great and i just added a pair of brutes:thumb:
  20. i troll at 3 plus miles an hour with spoons for fall steelhead, sometimes 100 plus feet down and the bigger weights are a must.they are nice when you have heavy curents at diffrent depths too.i added brutes this year so there will be a couple #20ers on my boat for sure:thumb:
  21. i dumped the hand cranks for 2 brutes a wire diver set up from eyefull 2 rigger rods from eyefull 2 copper/core rods from eyefull 2 600 lcs from eyefull 4 700 lcs from eyefull fishhawk x-4 from eyefull garmin tr-1 gold auto pilot 4 cisco rod holders and of course some new plugs, spoons, flys and attractors.now i just have to find some place to stuff all of it on the boat:thumb: i might pick up a set of the new hd ratcheting rod holders from big jon.if the wife will allow it
