Same here adan in the last week and a half 6 trips from ericson all the way around to thomas 3 fish 4 skunks my average has suffered bad the last week and I am getting discouraged.

Yeah your probally right 30 -40 foot charter boats whatever the hell they are. The charter boats.

I still run a couple spoons or plugs but I usually run 5 meat rigs all day long in various depths and colors 3 riggers and 2 wire I still run the plugs and spoons off the cores and copper. The main thing is you cant run the 2 programs together!! in order to run meat you are going 2 mph or less most run spoons 2.5mph and up. so once I switched to meat and almost all meat my catch rate tripled I grew up running spoons but times change as for this mid morning once the stupid bite is over.. thats all crap do you really want to go through the best part of the day without your best stuff in the water? I had multiple times last year when it got dusk every meat rig in the water went and not one spoon. I run all John Jmeatrigs and flashers and usuakky keep right up with the 40 and 50 foot charter boats running twice as many poles.

yea what Frank said! Its caught the biggest and the most over the years on my boat back when it was almost an all spoon game yellow tail was bad azz I have one that a 23 lber bent in complete horseshoe thats a big fish for Lake Huron.

There was alotta lakers in there last year My dad also caught a 8 lb steelhead out a little farther last year and I haveheard of guys pulling steelhead near that area last spring and fall. I aint saying it wasnt a salmon though anything is possible I would like to see a couple more salmon all them shad on the west side are huge I seen some as big as 12 inches it would take a salmon to eat those.

I tried running my full core down the chute when I first started, My new motto is nothing belongs in the chute but fish.

I want one of those fly crawler harnesses but I aint gonna try it for steelhead! And sorry its been a couple days that aqua gold fly is a standard size not gold at all its mostly teal and glow.

Last year I didnt see that many either but the year before we were running a glo aqua gold fly behind a 10 inch spin doctor green dolphin and it tore up steelhead 2 weekends in a row 6-8 steelhead a day I never had it work before or after those 2 weekend but something was happening they liked.

I would hook the dive bomb to the mono between the copper and backer and let out some line I keep 50 foot of mono on just for dive bombs

I agree with Fank adding a little snap weight or dive bomb would gain you 20 feet no problem. As for poles I bought a medium heavy 9.5 foot diawa heartland rod for about 15.99 put a twili tip on it and ready to go.

I been running big jon electrics for 22 years still all original equiptment and I have run 12 lb balls for the last 10 years. I havent had much of a need to find out how the customer service is (knock on wood) I do know my stickers got real faded out about 10 years ago I called the company they sent brand new ones for free they even paid for shipping.

The thicker the fly the more action is killed a sparse fly has alot more action.

Daybreak couldnt have said it any better myslef the initial cost of buying into another program is a little scary at first but the results are well worth it!

I run all meat on dipsies and riggers the last 2 years nothing else comes close to producing as well all 10 and 12 inch capt johns flashers 10 on dipsies and 12 on riggers on the copper and lead I usually stick to plugs and spoons or a bare meat head with no flasher or flies I run a mixture of whole and cut bait one never seems to out produce the other by far Knock on wood since I started this program I have not been skunked

I like the super heavy red offshores they will bend a rodin half and when your fishing over 100 down you need that release to hold on strong till the fish is hooked and if you dont wanna spend ten bucks a piece then bands work just as well.

Man the Dogs on fire! Nice Job Terry, Hey I got one of those sweet 55 reels and hooked it up with some copper man those things hold alot I have 900 ft of power pro 30, 300ft of 45 copper and about 70 foot of 30 lb mono man I should have used some backer oh well.

Yeah I wouldnt go salmon fishing without a flasher in the water 15 years ago when they werent that popular now I run alot more but one or two should be easy to enough for you to start out with.

Our water temp has beenwarm this year all over this state I am notsure what normal is for Lk Michigan surface temps but the bay got warm fast and the fish left!
