  1. Nice catch ANdy and good job on pulling that brownie out;)
  2. Set up a little before six. I wanted earlier but my crew cant handle the hours and my enthusiasm at 230 AM.
  3. Ended up 3 for 3 with a shaker king, a 12# king and a 8# laker. Shaker was on Area 51 rigger rod 1 minute after set. King was on 200' copper with MS Brook Trout, Laker on 9 color with double orange crush. Not much for marks this morning. Fish spread everywhere. Fished 70 -205fow. Nothing for marks out deep. Over friday sat and sun fish were taken on gray ghost J Plug, many orange green spoons, MS Mongolian Beef, NBK was prob hottest. 3, 5, 6, 7,8, 9 color core went. Rigger and sliders 30-60 down. 200, 250, 300' copper alll caught fish. Sat night bite was hottest and heaviest. Morning have been slow. All in all a great and fun weekend with Fishwhisperer and my cousin plus wife. Will post pics when he emails me.
  4. AM- Went 3 for 7 with Fishwhisperer, my cousin and his wife. She got her first salmon ever:D Losing fish left and right and not much of a pattern. Fished 70-145 fow PM- 5 for 9 bringing us to 50%. Couple doubles, lost a whole double:mad:. Great night on the lake. Mix of rods and lures again. Fished 65 to 120 fow. All kings on saturday. My cousin and wife had a great time as newbies learning how to rig, fight and lose fish, lose equipment and have a great time!!! 6/7 AM- You will find out soon as im heading out now:D:grin:
  5. Well done Frank and crew. What time is the fish fry??????????
  6. Went out this morning with Fishwhisperer in the Nee Hi. Ended up 6 for 6 with 4 kings and 2 lakers. Biggest king about 12#. Fished 90-15 fow. Never got hot and heavy, pretty spread out thru the day. Rigger slider down 40' Craigs Christmas, 200 and 300' copper with orange green spoons, MS Flounder pounder early. NIce day on the boat with a few filets to show. Sounded pretty slow on the radio. Will be out again in the morning. At least we batted 100%
  7. Should be outta of SH in the morning. Good luck. The Nee Hi should be in a full force .
  8. You can also check the buoy data at wunderground.com Its gives relatively fresh data. Just rememeber its in the middle of the lake. Kinda have to take wind direction into account. Webcams help also. I fish SH but the Holland cam angle is helpful to judge wave height.
  9. After fishing with Fishwhisper last year i got hooked on copper. Over the winter i hooked up a 200 and 300' of 45# copper. I have had pretty good luck on it so far. Both rods have taken many fish. I just rigged up a 150' of 45# last night and hope to use in the AM. Last time out we did better on the leadcore but it was a 6 and 8 color with copper being deeper on the 200 and 300. 200 took the biggest 2 fish last 2 times out(an 11 fish and 15 fish day). Leadcore seems to have its place as well and im rolling with a mix. Why switch when u can just buy more rods!!! I just got a rigger this year so i fish mostly my cores and copper along with dipsy of course. Just my .02
  10. Gander in Portage has the same deal going. I dont know how they get 7.99 for a moonshine though. I bought a bunch this spring from fishdog for under $5. Portage Gander has gotten a poopy selection of spoons thus far. Was much better last year.
  11. Black is fine unless you suggest a different color for the NEE HI
  12. Bring enough beer!!!!! And a headlamp. Seriously though I want in on this. I have not caught much after that magic moment shortly after sun set. I have tried the whole deal of running the moonshines and other glows but have been SOL.
  13. I used to think the same thing but talking to these guys will help big time. Some things seem so natural to some guys after 30 years of fishing but we all gotta get started somehwere. I am at that starting point. If ur asking there is 5 people thinking the same wihout posting. Ask away!!!!!! BTW-My quote just makes me laugh. The only stupid question is the one that does not get asked.
  14. I will take 2. Let me know when to meet ya in the ZOO.
  15. I can hear the oil sizzling. Sounds yummy. Good Job
  16. Thats all that matters. Gotta keep trying new stuff.
  17. Sounds like a heck of a start to a great morning. Nice Job!
  18. Well done. Thats a monster, Love the shakers in his mouth:lol:
  19. I agree. Just rigged some up and used this knot without ever tying before and it real simple.
  20. Lots of people run them on leadcore and copper as well. I have never had much luck this way but never gave it much of a shot. Flies on dipsy is my go to rig. Did get all my coho this year on leadcore with dodger flies though. I have not done real well with JPlugs on lead either. But once again never fished them much except on dipsy. Spoons are my go to on the core.If using the fly i would put it on 10 color prob going deeper. Just my .02 BTW- 6 color is my top rig all of last year and so far this year. Throw a moonshine bloody nose on there and you will not be disappointed.
