  1. Well its Monday i survived:grin:. We ended up with 10 guys in our 20' X 24' cabin with 3 generations of cousins dad, uncles. Pulled a few pike out of the dam with the biggest being just under 30". Well i did manage to put a treble hook thru my uncles ear:lol: He was a trooper though and i got to do surgery:rolleyes:. Tried fishing a local stream with my cousin that had fished it there before:crazy: Well after a long walk in waders for 3 miles along river without a spot to even cast, we headed back. After a long day on the boat fishing with alot of beverages, we walked around for almost 3 hours in the dark in the woods in waders!!!! Both forgot GPS, compasss, and phones. Canoed down Ausable from Alcona to Loud which turned pretty fun with prob 30 trout hooked. All spinners for trout. Some smallies on worms. Got 2 keepers in, lost some darn nice fish. Cousin got a 18" smallie on ultralight:lol:. Headed back late Sunday after lots of driving and cleaning. Im beat!!! but had a fun weekend with the fam.
  2. Heading up to the DAM pond this weekend for a fam fishing trip Gramps cabin is 1/4 mi away. We fished it fairly hard last year and did pretty crappy. Sure it will be fun but always looking for tips as my standard tactics have failed miserably. Gonna float down the Ausable which should be sweet. Will post when i get back hopefully:lol: Thurs to Sunday fishing trip is gonna rough with 12 guys:beerchug:
  3. That sounds like a great day of perchin with a nice king tossed in. Fished til outta bait and switched prey. I love it!

  8. I was the rider. Hs wife and him came over with his boat last weekend and salmon fished for the weekend. Finally talked to him at noon and i dont think 6am woulda been pretty. At least i didnt miss much salmon action from the looks of things.
  9. Congrats. Glad everything went well.
  10. I am back in BAy City and got to get out for 1 hour yesterday. Supposed to be fishing right now but my cousin is a no show. :angry2:Shoulda guessed when i left his house at 3am and he was still up after a long poker game. At least i woulda found a different person to fish with. Rather be salmon fishing anyway:D
  11. Fishwhisperer and i headed out in the Nee Hi last night. East wind all day and calm dead flags heading out river. 50 fow it was NW wind at 15 mph and 1' OK keep going. STopped in 75fow heading West and started setting lines. Built to 2 footers. Pretty much west waves:confused: Shortly thereafter the waves kept building and once i could not see above them and they started capping it was head in a little faster time. 2 marks in about 90fow but was mostly watching the waves:eek: We hit a fish on the 9 color NBK as we were clearing other rods. Had to goose the motor as a wave wanted to get in my boat and pulled the fish off. Lost another board on a 5 color that snapped backing. Never even clicked like it caught in a wave. Was glad to be back at the river. Light east back at shore. Short trip but better than staying out there:butcher: Good luck to all my salmon buds this weekend. I will be fishing sag bay.

  13. I was fortunate enough to find a 16' boat 70's with a 15 HP merc from 93'. Its aluminum and not super wide but fishes the inland lakes and rivers pretty good. Use it to troll lake mich all over on nice days. Not sure of exact dimensions. Its a browning. Got pics in the show ur boat forum. Tows like a dream;)
