  1. Outstanding Capt. I need to get my butt over to Lake Ontario and check this stuff out.
  2. Ah the coming of the Sea Flea. Great job in the tourney.
  3. I currently have braid on 2 riggers and cable on 2, I am going to switch to all cable tomorrow, The Sea Fleas just kill the braid. But for 2 seasons now I have used the Walker terminals for attaching my downrigger weights just tie a double half hitch around the main line after you thread the line thru the terminal end. These ends are available at most tackle stores and are really easy to use on both cable and braid. If u use cable just run the cable thru as shown on the package, I put a crimp sleeve just above the attachment then trim the end.
  4. The stackers are a great way to get another rod on the Downrigger, be sure to keep your leads consistent and like mentioned befor spinnies and dodgers or paddles on the deepest and short leads. I no longer run stackers because I use the dipseys to take the place of the stackers, If you can legally run the rods why not has always been my policy. 5 people in the boat I run up to 15 rods, but if you get really busy u can get into trouble if everyone on board doesnt know what to do. I usually run my flashers and fly combos off the deepest rigger on the boat everything else except Jplugs it really doesnt matter. J plugs search side to side as much as diving and a lead of thirty feet will swing pretty wide across the pattern. Better to get them below your other presentations and just above the flashers.
  5. The wife lost it at the marina, left her beach bag laying out and it just up and walked off.
  6. Well finally got back over to the Lake on a day that was fishable. Left the pier heads at 6:10 Pm. Ran out to 85 FOW and started setting lines. First things first thanks to Andy (2 UNREEL) for the tip on a set up, NBK 49 dn 12' back was very active. We ended up the evening 3 for 5, 2 nice kings and a beautiful Skamania Steelhead about 9# The Kings came on the afore said NBK, and 300 feet of copper with a MG flounder pounder, the steelhead hit a Fishlander Glo spoon called Purple passion, on a 4 color, no pics today the wife lost the camera and I have to get it replaced. We pulled lines at 10:40 and had a pretty good trip the only problem was the Fleas. Time to change over to the Flea Flicker. Mike (Supertramp) Boat Name MC2
  7. Really good job Jim. Your wife is really right about going out alone, especially when weather is brewing like we had Sunday night and monday.
  8. Ken is right on, think of your spread as a V going deep to shallow and you can run as many boards as you want to. My boat is only 8'6" beam but I run up to 8 boards.
  9. That makes the whole summer a better experience. Way to get her started.
  10. Stopped by Pyles Porthole in S. Have Saturday, asked about the tagged fish reporting and they do have the forms and do forward to the DNR.
  11. Nice job on a really tough day, I went over and worked on some tackle but after looking at the pier heads I said I am not enough of a man to try that solo. Great job finding fish.
  12. Nice goin Nick. June sucks on the pond first there is the cotton wood fluff, then the fish disappear, and it takes them a while to school up in that deeper water. But July is comin and the trips will once again mean full coolers and lots of filets.
  13. There was a comment about tagged fish taken and where in SW Michigan you can turn in the tags. Big Lake Outfitters in Saugatuck is listed on the DNR web site as a drop off spot for the coded wire tags (CWT).
  14. Randy the coded wire tags can be dropped off at Big Lake outfitters in Saugatuck.
  15. Great job Matt. Gotta love the Net issues. For that reason I keep a spare below deck on the MC2.
  16. Outstanding, I have begun to change all my hooks to Gamakatsu reds as soon as I open the pack. They are ultra sharp and I just think the reds are an attractant too. Its a great thing to see a young person get onto a king.
