  3. I’ll definitely check out that scale me and my buddy got a monster king a few weeks back that I thought for sure was at or over the 30lb make it was a beast. The fish maid 5 -200ft runs made my reel’s drag sound like something I’ve never hurd before and was more then 6in wide. This was a true monster king. Sent from my iPhone using Great Lakes Fisherman

  10. I would think by now the meat bite would kick in. We'll be over there in a couple of weeks. Thanks for the report.
  11. Got out fishing about 2:00 on Tuesday and fished for a little more than 2 hours and went 7-8 on walleye. All came on hot n tots (80-95 back) anything chrome did well in 14-17 FOW. Wish we could have stayed longer but not bad for 2 hours of fishing. Lot's of reports at the dock of people catching fish in 8-10 FOW as well so it sounds like the fishing is good everywhere on the east side of the bay. Tight lines everyone.
  12. Unfortunately I don’t have a scale. Sent from my iPhone using Great Lakes Fisherman

  15. I'm unsure if everyone is aware of this fact, but they now have "activatable" foghorn lights on most of the lighthouses in West Michigan. Very helpful for running in conditions of poor visibility and low light. To trigger the light go to VHF channel 79A and hit your microphone button 5 time Thanks learn something new today.

  17. Started around 6:30am we immediately started marking bait from 10ft-50ft down in 60-75fow the fish were all over the balls of bait but we didn’t get a bite and didn’t see too meany nets going in the water. I decided to run NW setting up in 120fow fished from 120 to 185 hitting fish the hole time we ended up go 13 for 14. Everything took Fish from are riggers “35 to 65 down”lead core 5 5 ,7 and 10 color. Slide divers 50ft lead 100 to 125ft back. Sent from my iPhone using Great Lakes Fisherman
  18. Went 4 for 10ish, 3 kings one laker, biggest king 21 lbs. lost a lot of decent fish. Fished 1-5 miles north of the pier heads in 80-100. Frog spinny with pickled sunshine fly took a few hits, meat rig a couple hits, UV blue dolphin took one, blue flounder pounder took two hits. Most fish came deeper(40-70 down).
  19. Good job Dan. We had an off day. Only went 1-3. Tried to go back to the areas NW of the pier where I found fish on Monday and Saturday going 23 - 27 between the two days. Set lines in 95' and went out to 130' and back in as shallow as 60'. Took our lone fish in around 92' of water on the way back in. Considered trolling over to where you were, but decided to just head in due to the bumpy ride and I had grass to cut at home. Talked to a couple of boats at the boat launch who did well in as shallow 60'. Seems like the fish are scattered and yesterday, at least for us, up to the NW was not the place to be. If you find them and stay on them you will do well. Just like in real estate, it's all about location, location, location.
  20. I have had one for a few years, but never hooked it up; it just looked like a pain; so Josh said he had two that he brought. Most of the morning he had a 100’ lead; about 11:30 I asked him to shorten it to about 50’.Shortly threafter we caught a nice king. Think I’ll hook mine up! We had no rain yesterday which surprised me from what I saw on the radar at 0500 on TV in Jackson.
  21. Nice job. I am using slide divers for the first time this year. They are catching a lot of fish for me. Sent from my LG-Q710AL using Great Lakes Fisherman Mobile App
  22. We motored Southwest out to 210 ft of water and spun around set lines and trolled back in. We didn't mark a fish until 130 ft of water. We didn't have a hit until 84 feet of water. It was a 8 pound King on a green flounder pounder. The bait was presented about 35 ft down. I heard someone else on the radio who got a king in 60 feet of water. That was the only hit we got tonight. We went into 60 and back out to 90 before pulling lines. Sent from my LG-Q710AL using Great Lakes Fisherman Mobile App
  23. Great catch! Did any rain follow you? Sent from my SM-J737A using Great Lakes Fisherman Mobile App

Fished 92-103fow straight out and a few miles north of pier heads. 2-3s all day out of NE, 9 hits north troll, rest east, 2.5-3.0sog. 8 fish on CJohn’s Goc Magnum, 1 coho on rigger slider on Goc regular. Mag Whammy, ruv blue flounder, uv gr dolphin and uv like a mixed veggie and similar with blue stripe instead of green. Every pole, except my reg dipsey took fish: 5 1/2 and 10 colors, 200 and 300’ copper; riggers down 47’ and 54’ with 48’ leads: slide diver 147’ out with 50’ lead (about 47’ down). Great day on Lac Michigan!
