littleboat Posted July 21 Posted July 21 Fished solo 5:30- 9am, 90-130 fow, 1/3, lost 2 getting them to boat, but got one 8.8# king on an 8C with dragon slayer SD and grn white fly. Very bumpy entire time . Called it at 9am. Hope it improves for the night shift. Two misses on rigger with bloody nose mag. Reel-y-hooked Posted July 21 Posted July 21 Very nice reward for your effort Ed. We gave the rough water a try yesterday morning out of port Sheldon and had to quit at 8:30 as my 1st mate got sick. We did manage to boat 2 and lost 3 in a row. Green spoons and blue/white spin docs with green flies or meat were taking hits. Riggers, divers, and boards all took hits fishing 40’ to 90’ down. 2
littleboat Posted July 21 Author Posted July 21 Nice catch! Good effort with good results. Love those extra lures.Sent from my SM-A156U1 using Great Lakes Fisherman mobile app 1
SeaFoam Posted July 21 Posted July 21 Good work guys. I went out this morning as well. Pretty similar results. Solo Holland 7/21 am 2-4 6:00 am, 15 lb king, rigger down 60 ft in 100 FOW, mag ms green jeans 6:35 am, miss, same rigger down 60, 120 FOW, same spoon 7:00 am, 5 lb coho, dipsy 3 setting back 150 ft, 95 fow, mag ms happy meal 7:15 am, smaller king lost at boat, rigger down 75 ft, meat rig Went out to 150 fow, pretty sporty out there. Called it at 8:30. Talked to a guy at the cleaning station who had 6 nice kings. Said he fished 90-120 fow but just 35 ft down took the hits all early in the day. 2

2MD Posted July 21 Posted July 21 nice work guys and Seafoam either you got a small profile cooler or that one is a Beast 1
jdh Posted July 21 Posted July 21 Things might change, but looks like I'm going to sit this night shift out. Don't feel like fighting the north wind today. 1
Aaron Nusbaum Posted July 21 Posted July 21 I'm eyeing tomorrow morning, really want to get out but I'm not sure if I trust it to lay down overnight. NOAA says waves around a foot tomorrow but they've been unreliable all year Sent from my Pixel 6 Pro using Great Lakes Fisherman Mobile App 1
jdh Posted July 21 Posted July 21 Seagull wind forecast shows windy day out of the north. NOAA calling for SE winds. Another wind app calling for 15-20 knots out of SSW.
SeaFoam Posted July 21 Posted July 21 That’s a lot of wind direction options JDH! One might be right. Lol
2MD Posted July 21 Posted July 21 haha ok so buoy says 3.3 but PUG is fired up and we are heading out 1

zgrinder on Fin Warrior Posted July 22 Posted July 22 My compliments to all the break of day salmon slayers heading out not sure what the morning will bring. Morning fishing therapeutic if it is flat. Chunky seas just ruin the morning vibe on a get up early morning float. I prefer to roll my dice on golfing at day break. The hard turf is more predictable even if my driver is not 2
