Fathers Day Walleye AuGres

WTG Frank -
Well, Dad and i headed out of Linwood this morning with the intent of hitting some shallow water on the west side of the bay. To our dismay, we couldnt get anything going, despite some decent promise on the sonar. So, we pulled up and made a 14 mile move to 26-30'. Set up and started bopping fish shortly thereafter. We ended up landing 19 legal walleye. Had a great time out there and the weather was gorgeous. I ecspecially liked it before the sun came out....Man did it get hot fast! 1 oz. inlines 25-40' back(40' was best by far). Puprle beads w/Purple/Silver blades was our hot presentation. Speed 0.9-1.1 S.O.G. Heres the vid and pics

Damn thats ugly...Cant say it was from lack of effort though. -
Hey guys the other day i had some trouble with my VHF radio when i was trying to talk to Scott(Fishingmachine2). Could recieve, but coudnt get out. Called the company and they said my mic was bad...no suprise, thats what i thought....and that they no longer made that model and couldnt repair it!.....So, that put that radio to bed after its third year. Next i started shopping and decided on an iCom M304. They retail for 149.99-159.99 everywhere i looked online. Finally i found one online for $134.95+$4.95 shipping...came to $139.90. iCom is offering a $10 mail in rebate until July 5th so that gets my price down to $129.90. Just thought id pass that along incase your in the market for a radio...If your interested in where i found it for that price PM me. If Mike doesnt mind, ill post a link, but i thought i better do it in this manner first. cya on the water...Adam

Fish Spooking from boat Q & A.
Adam Bomb replied to Walleye Express's topic in Walleye Fishing Discussion
I think that was very well said Dan. Those fish very well could have been hunkered right on the bottom and looked to be part of it. His statements remind me of a day fishing north of 1&2 in 31' of water a few years back. The water was clear and it looked like a pane of glass. To look at the sonar was like looking acrossed the desert. No suspended bait or fish to be seen. All there was were these alongated "blue lumps", as they look on our graph, dotting the bottom with very little to no seperation from it. Many looked like an extention of the bottom itself...They were augered right in. Couldnt get a fish on a BB or our higher lines. Overall, things were slow until I lengthened the lead of an inline/harness until it literally bounced bottom. It wasnt long and it took a fish, then another and another. So, we switched up more rods and things started poppin. We landed about 15 fish in those condtions and some nice ones to boot. It was the day of the Linwood Classic 3 or 4 years ago, and of course we werent in the tournament...Funny how that works sometimes. The only thing i could figure is that the fish didnt like all the hardware of the BB, which is why the inlines worked so well. It was just a bit less intrusive to them....That said, those days can be really tough conditions to fish, and as you said, you can only do your best...You cant make em bite! -

WTG Frank and Crew -
Well, we had a late start today. Messed around here at the house and debated all morning on whether or not to go out with the east wind. I made a few calls and finally got a hold of Scott(Fishingmachine2) and he was out on the water. He said there was good 2' waves, but it was dying down. So, Dad and i loaded up the boated and headed out. Made about a 12 mile run and shut down. On my way i passed a white lund...Turns out it was Scott. Anyhow, we made a pass there and i pulled a couple fish, one legal, one sub legal. Didnt mark a whole lot through there. So, we pulled up and headed east about 2 miles and setup again to come down the same troll we did on Sunday. Set lines and it wasnt long and things were poppin. Didnt take long and we had 7 in the box. Along with the good fishing came more and more wind and waves. The 1 1/2-2' chop quickly built up to 3', then 4'ers steady. And eventually it kept building and there were 5 and 6' mixed in. With the water building the way it was we just decided to keep the tail in the wind and keep on a downward troll. In doing so we had a lull in the action where we didnt catch a fish for quite some time. Eventually we hit a pod of fish and finished out our limit. Boated somewhere around 25 fish to get our ten legal fish. Was another great day on the water despite the rocky road back to Linwood. Fished in 25-28' of water. Used 1 oz. Inlines 25-35' back, got a few at 40'. Pink was hot today. Ran pink stack beads w/DB Fishing Pink Panties Whiptail, Pink Confusion, Yeck's Puss n Boots. We also had two chart harnesses out. One was a standard harness and one was a spoon harness. Ran a Yeck Circus Freak on that and on the spoon harness Bait Rigs Astrobrite Silver Melon-Spoon was a Silver Streak Candy Apple. We never ran the motor at all today. Just drifted along with the waves. Had speeds from 0.8-2.7. Id say we averaged around 1.3-1.5 S.O.G.
