  1. Awsome Job Don and crew. That looks like that was one fun night!!
  2. Try using, soft scrub gel if nothing else works. I have been using it on my upper deck and its the easiest I have found for getting tree sap and gook off. It might work.
  3. Great Pics Ken, I'll bet that the South Haven Light house has a million pictures a year taken of it but I havent seen one like that... Nice Job
  4. We were north a few miles. I was bangnig a few waypoints that very seldom let me down.
  5. I am sure you would need to pull your outdrive if you even think of jacking the motor up. Otherwise you could throw your alignment off and blow out your gimble bearing or bend your splined shaft. I have never replaced a starter on a 260 but it seems to me there has to be a way to do it without pulling the motor.
  6. That sounds like alot of fun, I'll have to try it sometime
  7. After watching the weather for most the morning and afternoon we decided that we had a window to get out in the evening. We took the 2UNREEL out to 85fow and had my brother, sister-in-law, and nephew from out of state. There was some decent rollers but manageable. We took fish on lead, wire, and riggers. The sundown bite was excellent with drags screaming and riggers popping. We managed to loose quite a few big fish but had a blast. We ended up with 4 Kings and a 5in skipper. Comming in it was nice hearing the AC/DC cover band playing by the river for the Blueberry Festival, it capped off a great trip with my brother and family. - Glow frog Spindoctor on the wire, 17lb King - Purple glow tiger on the 7 color , 16lb King - NBK on the rigger 59 down, 6lb King - Area 51 on the 12 color, 4lb King
  8. Trolled 85 fow from 6:30-9:30 aboard my fathers boat(Voyageur) and went 4 for 7. One braided diver set back 147 with a pearl spin doctor and pickled sunshine fly took 2 Kings and the 3 misses with the last one breaking the leader. The other fish came 125 back on the blue bubble spindoctor/fly and a nice steelhead came 70 down on the rigger with a blue and chrome chillie willie looking lure. 3 kings 16+lbs and a 10lb steelhead. It was very nice quick evening trip with my mother, wife, and nephew doing all the rod work and running only 7 rods.... Hope the weather flips for this weekend so I can fill the cooler.
  9. Freak nasty steelhead Tom, are those things common?? That thing is awsome, I'll bet there was some head scratching on that one.
  10. Its possible that the fish may have brought the diver line into the rigger cable. I was focused on trying to get the fish to the net and not have any of the crew fall overboad in the process. The leader was coiled up pretty good and had nicks up and down it.
  11. You called it, my hand was numb and cramped up as I was trying to retie the leader cause the king got crazy at the boat and wrapped around the braided diver and snapped the 50lb Power pro. Thank you gamma for outliving the power pro to land the fat bellied mama.
  12. Trolled the 75-120ft range and did the best in the 75-85 water. The waves kept us from venturing too far and the fishing seemed a little slow. We took a glad hefty sack on the 12 color and a nutty bar wrapper on the rigger. After that things picked up We went 5 for 6. - 18lb on the 12 color with Green Silver Horde - 17lb on a Kevorkian SD and Pickled Sunshine Fly - 14lb on a Green Frog SD and Mirage Purple Fly - 5lb on a moonshine Happy Meal on a downrigger - 4lb on a craigs christmas on a downrigger pictures comming soon
  13. Wish I knew some fresh info for South Haven, good luck and go with what has worked good for you before. I would start in 100ft or so and probe around. I'll know more on Sunday.
  14. Don your going to need a beefier fish cleaning cart if you keep that up.....Can I have your old one????:)NICE FISH!!
  15. Tell your wife you called your mother in law and asked if it was ok to skip the bingo so you could fish more and she replied "yes, have a good time". And if it ever comes up that she never said that say "Honey she is getting old and can't remember everything"
  16. The local west michigan Okuma rep is top notch. I have had great luck with any issues that have occured. Check your local baitshop that is a Okuma dealer and you will be fixed up in a jiffy. Even the best of the best breaks once in a while. I am sure if I hauled as many monster kings in as alot of the great fisherman here I might have some reel failure as well. I have all convectors except I gave up my trusty penn dr reels for some magda's this spring and besides the gear ratio and fresh drags I am not too impressed with the magda's. When I get a chance I will be outfitting my riggers with some more convectors and tossing the magda's aside. MY2CENTS
  17. Great Job Joe, Jarod, etc. That is an excellent box of fish. I am happy to see you are battling through this tough time in your life. Were glad to see your here to fish another day. Never give up!
