  1. Sounds like alot of work, I can't wait to watch the shows. Who is going to run the GLFTT?
  2. nice! love the specs with a perch appetizer
  3. How many spikes or wax worms do you guys put on your tear drops? Does it depend on the early or late ice or the species your targeting?
  4. I want 2- Tiara 32' Open's 6 Vector Heavy Metal Dr's, 3 for each boat. A nice electronics package from Raymarine and a couple Fub Wobblers
  5. I know a few people that work at sound off.....I might be able to get something custom, I forgot about that thanks.
  6. LEDS would be a nice touch. I originally wanted LEDS but could not find the ones I wanted 8 o'clock on a friday night before going fishing the next morning. I just havent had the need to upgrade yet.
  7. Couple years ago i setup some lights for those early morning and late nites on the water. Since I don't have an arch or hardtop I improvised. Its nice to have lights up high and out of the way to light up the back of the boat and off the sides for setting divers up. This setup uses a RAM mount originally designed for a gps handlebar mount. The lights are a $20 Autozone special. I can point them anywhere I want if I need light there. When I dont need them I pop them off and ony have alittle rubber ball on the bimini. I ran my wires through the slits for the poles in the top and makes for a nice clean installation. I have also put reflectors on my planers and you can pick up the planers if the waves are nice n calm.
  8. The model Knife I have is a 40538 the 10" knife. If I was to buy another knife I would get the 12" but it does well. The sharpener does not have a number on it but I remember its what the tech reccomended. Here is a pic of how the tech told me to use the steel. Ultimately you would put the piont of the steel on the table and hold the handle in one hand. Then line up the back of the blade to the short flat edge on the handle to set the angle
  9. The way to remember Mike color code is: 0- Bad 1- Beer 2- Rots 3- Our 4- Young 5-Guts 6-But 7-Vodka 8-Goes 9-Well I have spent most my life in the electronics industry and the resister color code is stuck in my head as well....Good tip Mike
  10. I called Forshner and talked to a tech there. I wanted to make sure I got the correct sharpener or steel for my knife. There are many steels to choose from. I told him my model of knife and my application and he gave me the number of the proper steel for my knife. He even told me the correct way to use the steel. It may surprise you. When in doubt go to the manufacturer they are the experts in most cases.
  11. I'm in! Sounds like a great time.
  12. I have a pair of RAM Rod holders that have never been used. They have the track bases that I belive fit in some downrigger slide bases. You could do a little machining and they will fit Berts or Traxtec tacks. Picture shows a standard base witch you can buy online or you can use any mount you want for these....Asking $60.00 obo.
  13. I use the lakemaster chip in my boats lowrance chartplotter, then I use it on the ice with my ifinder hunt witch is the same as the h20. I used it on Muskegon lake ice fishing last year and it was dead nuts. My chartplotter and handheld are b&w. I have also seen it on the color versions and the contour lines do not show as well. It may have been just a setting but I did not care for it in color.
  14. What are the rules for hunting from a boat? Does it have to be at anchor or can you float? Its been one of my interests for a few years now but never done the steelhead fish while you hunt thing.

  18. I shoot G5 Montec's and I just throw them on a stone and reuse them. They are buit to last and reuse. I have shot them into trees and they still stay straight. All the deer I have shot they have blown strait through and left a big triangle hole on either side. Massive carnage! Thats the only broadhead I trust.
