  1. Nice report and pics! Sounds like you guys had fun, that's what its all about. We have to get together in manistee this fall!
  2. Looks like there wasn't any issues when I came in after the fireworks and went to the slip. I've seen it more crowded on a Sunday afternoon at the ramp. We went out and came in after the majority and had 0 issues. It was a great event.
  3. Forgot to mention the wife ok'd autopilot for the boat after having 2 doubles in a row and trying to keep the boat on coarse can be a challenge with my 4yr old at the wheel and my 5yr old sleeping Any recommendations??
  4. Went out for a few hours mid-day to try for some Steelhead. We saw some high flyers today! Love these things. We had alot of sea fleas so I only ran 1 clean rigger and the rest wire divers and planer boards. South West troll in 110-125fow best. The green Alewife Mikes Eyefly took 4 hits 137ft out, landed 2 nice steelhead. The silver streak mini green with neon green dots?? Like a green perch UV or something took 2 more steelhead on a 10 color. Nice king on a Oil Slick Eyefly 157 back on the wire. King on a Stinger NBK 60 down and a small coho on a 200 Copper with a Streak purple frog. I had a chance to break in the new fish cleaning board I made for the marina(See Below)!
  5. Nice work Terry! Way to put a nice box of lakers on board.
  6. Bolted outta work, met the wife and kids at the boat. Fished from 7 to 9:30. 110-125fow sw troll worked the best. Took a nice king on a wire diver 135 back with a Oil Slick Mikes Eyefly. I put the skirt on backwards to give a little extra flare for grins. Took 5 min for the king to hit. 10min later I bumped up the speed to around 3.5sog and steelhead smaked the other wire with a eyefly green aelwive. I have to say I am impressed with the hook set on the Eyeflies, I havent had one bump and run yet. Rest of the night a Laker came on a silver streak green huckleberry down 80. Then the sundown was kicking in and I was hoping for everything to go and only to a smaller king on a 5 color with a NK Pink/Orange/Green tape. Where is the sundown bite?? I haven't been good with that this year???
  7. Awsome steelhead Terry! There is some biggins out there this year!
  8. I was woke up this morning from a fellow member in need of a special delivery on the water. They were dehydrated, also needed ice and did not want to leave the fish. So with no twist of the arm I woke the wife and kids up and headed to the lake. Met up with the Nee-Hi in 120ft and made the exchange, wished them luck and veered off to set some lines. Picked up a few fish, threw some lures overboard and hooked up with a nice steelhead. After unclipping the board my 4 year old son Evan finished the fish off. We brought it into the Porthole and weighed in @ 15.6lbs taking first so far on the leader board for big steelhead for the year. Word from Adam says he has seen alot of big steelhead coming in, so get out there and get you some. What worked: Silver Streak lemon Berry,Silver Streak SOG, Mini Mixed Veggie, U-M Froggie and Purple Froggie. Stinger NBK, Stinger Copper spoon with blue and green took the Steelhead.

  19. Name: Andy Boat: 1985 Sea Ray Sundancer 250DA Port: South Haven and beyond Bio: Been fishing on Lake Michigan since a wee lad. Love to go out fun fishing as much as possible but enjoy the tournaments for the excitement. I get the most fun taking people out that have never been salmon fishing before or helping someone learn the sport. I am an engineer so its my nature to always tweek the spread and presentation and figure out how and why something works. If your fishing out of South Haven give the 2UNREEL a shout on 68, always willing to give and take info.
