  1. A # 10 wire run down the mast to the water would do it. Better off not fishing in the Lightning storms;) I would think an ATV winch would be to slow for a rigger.
  2. Finely we where able to play hooky and get out to the big pond. We left the dock at Port Sheldon around 6:30 and headed out to 80 fow (thanks Phil for the help). We (my cousin and I) set a 6 rod spread of two riggers, two wire divers/ flashers, 250' copper and a full core. We ended the morning 7 for 10. All six of out poles took at least one fish, With the best being a SS Papa Smurf on the rigger 55 down. Blue Bubble back 150 on the wire took the biggest @ 15 pounds.
  3. A four man limit of eye's, Yum, Yum.
  4. Nice job, Mike, Sons, and crew. It was a great day to be on the water.
  5. I even got the boat all ready last night:( If I find a passenger, I may try Friday.
  6. Great job on the Trout Jay. Those Browns sure look nice.
  7. Here's my simple question; When the DNR decided to reintroduce Walleye to Saginaw Bay with aggressive plantings, how much did the commercial fisherman chip in? Comparing Charter Captains to Commercial Fisherman isn't fair. Every Fisherman on a Chartered Boat has a DNR Fishing License, which go's toward managing the resource.
  8. Welcome aboard Mark. High quality sharp hooks will help keep those fish on. On the one charter I was on, the Captain sharpened his hooks after every fish.
  9. Nice job on getting your wife to go fishing on Mothers Day. If you change the (ulr) to (img) both at the front and rear of the http, the pitcher will show up.

    Nice looking rig Tom.
  11. I've done the 10 rod spread many times with 18/19' Crestliner. 4 riggers, 4 divers, 2 inline boards. You need a calm day when the fish aren't biting.
  12. I was a little off on my twist count ( I never really count, just put the finger over the line and twist). The manufacture says 5-7.
  13. Holland is the first port that came to my mind also. Muskegon is a great port in August, with many launches and marinas.
  14. It looks like a Blacks release. They work well, simply put 3-4 twist in your line and hook the loop over the opened release. The thumb screw adjust the tenshion. The great thing with this type of release is; you can load the rod heavy without popping the release. (the upward pressure doesn't open it) is this the one you have?
  15. I looked out my window this morning, and much to my surprise, this Otter was out chasing fish. I live in SE Kent county and Otters are rare here.
