  1. St.joe has been my home port since being a kid fishing with my dad (super tramp) and we have caught nice kings as early as the 1st week of april. when the coho move a little deeper say 30 to 60 feet you will start seeing kings. taken some nice kings on the j 13 orange and gold rapala on a single color swr on boards. Thundersticks are a nice choice as well.
  2. Jarod I belive your going to have to contact the dnr. they will give you your license but i belive you have to pay 5 bucks wich is what you pay when you loose it due to the fact when you close the window to that link you close the session becuse that is a secondary company that they do all of there transactions through. But maybe you will get lucky. They will have a record of your purchase.
  3. I just sold My 221 islander. Great boat but like most Islander owners will tell you, esplecially if there older then 10 years your going to have leaky rivits. including the islander I have 3 boats. down to two. all aluminum. Two starcarafts. and one sylvan. The sylvan is 13 years old and is a 18' Middle V john boat I bought for duck hunting. I have beat the hell out of this boat as most duck hunters do to boats and there ARE NO LEAKS ANYWHERE on this boat as of today. I was actually thinking about this the other day as I am in the process of repainting the inside of the boat as its pretty beat up from The dog and Decoys etc. and that thought was Im supprised that this boat does not leak. I've owned a Smokercraft, leaky rivits, My father in laws lund, leaky rivits, Sea Nymph, NO leaky rivits and two starcrafts Bolth with leakey rivits. I feel leaky rivits are just part of owning a Boat. Gulvit is a great product for fixing this. Just my expirence.
  4. Treated lumber is no longer treated with arcinic and new treating schedule they use to treat lumber do not make the wood corrsive against aluminum like it use to be. just an fyi to everyone.
  5. thanks for the report Ed.
  6. sweet deal. spring in the Joe is second to none.wtg.
  7. sounds right. I ran bolth my + leads from each batterie to the switch. then 1 + from the switch to the 50 amp main breaker on the engine. then I ran bolth - leads to - on the engine. wich is were they run them from the factorie. So I guess to answer your question is that I would just run the - from the deep cycle to the exsisting - on the engine. that way if you loose one - you still have a second incase it wont roll over on 1 batterie. if you tie it to the other batterie and that connection for whatever reason goes bad then you will be dead in the water. There is more then one way to do it. this is just the way I did it.
  8. I would have to say my cell phone for emergencies along with my vhf radio. after that it would be my beer can cousies
  9. Wow. The story would make a good movie. Sorry to those captains for there losses. Im not a charter captain but I do understand how long it takes to accumulate equipment and tackle. It can never be replaced. Im just glad to read that no lives were taken. Sounds like a Jerry springer episode. Thanks for posting the artical Josh.
  10. SOLD TO SCOTT WINKLE OFF OF THE GREATLAKES FISHERMAN WEBSITE THANKS SCOTT.
  11. I went to this seminar two years ago and it was worth it just for the free grab bag.Not to mention I got alot out of what Bill and Dave had to shrare. Good captains and great info. was well worth it.
  12. I had the idle problem fixed I belive. Ran it 10 miles south out of southaven last trip I took last year and had no issues. But I have been on houghton lake and this boat is a bit much for that lake . The boat drafts 26 inches of water with the lower unit. so 30 inches is pushing it.
  13. Sorry! but the boat goes as a whole package or not at all. everything on it is pretty new. Being that I only want $7500 for it all I would say that is one hell of a deal.
  14. Going to start putting this boat back together for spring this weekend.Three weeks and The boat will be ready for whoever wants to buy it and go right to the lake and start fishing.
  15. So my 13 year old which you have all seen before and as you know loves rabbit hunting, lastnight on Michigan our of doors we saw a rabbit hunting special. There is probobly nothing more fun to a 13 year old then hunting rabbits behind a good beagle. I have over the years owned a dozen of them or so but shifted to bird dogs as I got older. Now that my son is at that age and really insistant on getting a beagle, I am in the market to look at beagle pups. Anyone out there know of anyone in this market within 50 miles of Martin Michigan. I have done some searches on google and craigs list and Have found a couple of dogs for sale but nothing what I would call real local. Having a hunting background is real important. Information would be greatly apreciated.
  16. I still use them and so do alot of other fishermen that I here when Im out on the lake. I would just run them like any other fly. behind your favorite flasher. 8" blue bubble protroll would be a good choice or Mt.dew spin doctor or green with reflective prisum tape jensen doger and I prefer longer leaders with squid.30+ inches. as I do best with squid in the dog days of summer.
  17. I run these flys and they are a good product. well made and they catch fish. I have put post on the site befor but I think sometimes they get posted on fishing reports rather then in the field testing section so not everyone gets to see the reviews. I give them a 2 thumbs up.
  18. Depends when you want to sell it. Try to sell it right now with all the snow,Guys have the itch and will pay. I would start at 2500 and take no less then 1800 for it. I have been in the snowmobile busness all my life and snowmobiles are a crap shoot, the weather dictates the price its a supply and demand thing. after the season the you might just as well hang on to it untill the beginning of the next season. I have a 1997 indy xlt 600 that is still showroom quality that I bought new off the floor from my brother who sell them. its one of a dozen ive owned over the years. I have it all cutomized out Motor redone by Flannery motor sport.wiesco pistons V force reeds fox racing shocks rpg clutch springs ported and polished head New Macoony 38mm tripple carbs. It is a sweet sled. but it is 14 years old and only has 2400 miiles original on it. only 400 miles on new motor. Its still, at best, is only worth about 2000 on a good seson. 1200 out of season. If your were to trade it they would give you a thousand and sell it for 3000 from a dealership. Hope this helps you with your decision.
  19. silver streak blue dolphin glow on swr on rigger.
