  1. i was thinking of grabbing a couple yellow birds for the price saveings alone and just as extras. what do you do to the birds ?
  2. personal preference on if you set the boards to release or not and same for lead vs copper. as said maybe fish with some others and or experiment on your own i like copper. for more than 1 board per side the shallowest running setup-lets say 3 color lead will be furthest from the boat and this rod will be furthest toward the bow, pointed higher up in the air, or both then lets say a 7 color lead or 250 copper would be closest to the boat with that rod tip lower and or closer to the stern. hope this helps, good luck.
  3. yes give results dont just post pre tourny for pr update please !!
  4. i cant tell if i can click on the pic to see it better. looks good to me only thing better would be one starts heading for wisc.
  5. torpedos are a depth control device look at www.torpedodivers.com
  6. this is one of the reasons i consider divers a PIA only help i can offer is throw them away and run torpedos.
  7. use what you have and can afford add dipsys and other stuff when you have the downriggers perfected. you can run long leads and or only run 3 if the fish are spooky. you will see days when the other stuff outdoes downriggers but there are still days when the riggers shine. they worked before we had this stuff and still work. IMO dipsys are a pain and not worth the little extra off to the side factor you get. i agree with the other poster if i was going to use any non rigger device it would be copper. i also do not consider a wire diver to be remotely stealth like. thats my 2cents good luck and go every chance you get.
  8. i concur with ryan as i used to live in midland and hang on the east side til i woke up and got into paradise.
  9. had lots of south/west wind. air temp may not hit 70 today now guess what way the wind is blowing and what it will do to water temp.
  10. thats funny i hope you find some of the kind that like to break lines and steal tackle:grin:
  11. yes i only knew it refered to the lat and long. i knew someone would give a more detailed answer thanks playdough-find any trolls under the bridge yet ?
  12. yes they are talking lat and long. #
  13. thanks for the report , even though you switched reels i am glad you didnt need the anti flea line.
  14. thanks rascal yes i have been watching the charts glad you dont have the fleas maybe the ones we have now are worse then the others sounds like they tolerate colder water. bloodrun i have no doubt you make a great product it would be even better in only my opinion if not for the drawbacks mentionend
  15. how does a sw wind bring icy cold water to ludington ? wouldnt it blow the warmer water from the sw corner of the lake to the western shore of mi ?
  16. sharp hooks and singles vs. trebles but what i am surprised is nobody asked you why you thought all the fish you lost were foul hooked? as stated coho are known for roliing and getting off etc. if the fish was foul hooked in some spots i think you would be less likely to lose it , but yes other spots it was foul hooked maybe more likely. i would bet they were not all foul hooked. good luck you will have better, worse and days just like that- thats fishing!
  17. $19 for 300 yards wrap the line 10 times ( i use blacks release) just as much of a pia then slapping the rod on the water like someone else mentionend
  18. cortland is no longer makeing the flea flicker line and i dont think anyone else is. what a pain:mad:
  19. guys i think he understands and has the speed thing down he is catching fish and only trying what he describes above when the fish shut off. wich i give credit for i think most would say ok the morning bite shut off the fish are getting into a negative mood lets SLOW down. good for trying something different. i think longer leads on the paddles would be better for going that fast. i am not sure how fast the regular size warrior spoons will troll but i know the flutter spoons they make will approach that speed range maybe look at prokings also.
  20. nice catch and way to thank the other posters cool!
  21. sounds like a boating can of worms and not the kind to catch fish with ! forget the local shadetree guy and go to an experienced factory certified guy-maybe one who has even heard of and dealt with this problem. motors now days could be anything it might think you are shifting when you go to that low of rpm shift cut out wire-just one of many, many things. you dont say if it ever stalls when you are docking or shifting from forward to neutral or reverse etc. but bottom line go pay the man - the one with all the factory school papers on the wall. let us know what it ends up !
