  1. Holland 10-1:30pm, 7-11-17 I was able to take my 88yr old uncle on the big lake for the 1st time. Didn't catch but one 10.06# steelhead, in 112fow, on an Artic ice spoon, with 300 copper, east troll, 2.7 sog, nw of harbor. We had a great time talking about friends and family until the fish interrupted us.
  2. Holland 6am-12, 7-4-17 Fished 115-147 fow, 3 for 6 all laketrout. 6.41#, 3.46# and 2.86# Spoons steeliestomper, jp slammer nbk, and Hud. Trolls mostly North and South, Slow day, 2.4-2.8 sog, one on DR slider, others on DR down 103 and 300 copper chute planer.
  3. Early morning bites seem to be the ticket. Great catch!
  4. Port Sheldon 11am-4pm, 6-21-17 2 for 3, Laketrout 6.65# and steelhead 6.79#. Both came on 10C chute planer. One with mag Blue Dolphin (147fow), other with mag UM Froggie (164fow). SE & W trolls. Fished 135-170 fow. LT hit going 3mph sog other 2.5 sog. Pup was pretty excited about the fish.
  5. 1 for 2, king 6.12# on a jagerbomb slider on DR, in 121 fow, ne troll, 2.7 sog, ball depth 78, ball temp 46.7. Lost a steelhead on a 10C with orange flounder pounder, when he fouled hooked himself during one of his 3 jumps out of the water. I was pulling him in side ways at that point. Hook finally detached and he floated on the surface for a few minutes. I tried to turn around to pick him up since I could still see him, but he slipped below the surface while I was in my turn. Marked alot of fish in 117-125 fow. Fished NW of holland between tunnel park and mile sw of PS data bouy. 2-3 foot rollers last night.
  6. My golden pup was waiting for the fish to jump on board! Only had one nibble during the short boat ride in the afternoon.
  7. Might see you out going sometime after lunch. Taking golden retriever pup out for 1st big lake ride. Already took him on lake macatawa. He did well.
  8. Holland 8-12pm, 6-7-17 1/2 , one 4.76# coho. Fished 48-62 fow. Cold water was in close with lots of bait fish. First line in water at 8am, 1st bite 8:15. Thought it was going to be a surprise day. It was, only one other release later in the day at 11:30.Caught coho on orange jaw breaker, 170 copper, nw troll, 55fow, speed 2.5.Waves kicked last hour to 3-4 chop. Water temp 44@48ft. 57.9 at surface.
  9. Took my Golden Retriever puppy for his first boat ride. Bagged 6 sheephead (6-12#). He handled it well. Picked all fish on the southside of the lake in 15-20fow. Next trip the big lake.   11. 4/6, 2 kings (6.58# & 5.44#) and 2 cohos. Spoons blue whale on chute planer, lemonberry 270 cu board, steelie stomper on DR dwn 60 in 151fow and carmel dolphin on slide diver back 205. Bites came in 132- 171. No special troll direction speed 2.8-3. Lake was a little choppy but laid down after 1st hour water temp 57.1 at ball. Surface temp 57.3. Very strong currents. Bite was a little tough. Village joined me. Lot of boats out today Area covered North and south of piers.

  16. It was a great day. Glad to see you guys nailed it! I was able to get my one man limit too. 1 king (9.76#) and 4 plump cohos which I gave to my other buddies who were having a difficult time pulling them in, though they did pop a 15# king and a coho too. I went 5 for 9. Jawbreaker, bloody nose, DR HOOK, nuclear veggie and super glow bloody nose worked well. 109-135 was the best. Used DRs and slide divers, lots of rolling waves 3-4 ft and foggy!   19. 5-23-17 Port Sheldon 10am-12 Got out for a short trip before the rain came. 3 for 5, 1 king 4.96#, 1 coho 3.65#, 1 throwback coho. 2/2 deep (7oz) slide diver, with Mag Nuclear Veggie, N troll, 2.7 SOG, set 3, bk 140, 106-111 fow, NW of piers, surface water temp 50.5. Throwback coho on a Firefrog std., on DR slider.

  22. One man limit variety pack caught today. North and west of harbor 160-170 fow. Got 1 king 7.71#, 1 laketrout 7.29#, 1 coho 2.82 #, 1 coho 2.71# and 1 coho 3.26#. 1/1 king on 270 45#copper with MoonShine Artic ice mag spoon, nw troll, 2.7 sog 1/1 coho, SS, std jagerbomb on 150 copper, ne troll, 2.7 sog 2/2 coho, MS std circus freak, DR slider, se troll, 1/1 laketrout, mag Green Founder Pounder, DR down 136, in 171 fow, s troll, 2.4 sog, ball temp 41. Surface 48.4. Lake was lazy 1 ft rollers to calm.
