  1. Set lines around 5:15 am out in front of the pier heads marked a lot of fish but no takers. Ran out to the bathhouse at 7am trolling north past the point in 60-160ft and back. Very slow went 2-4 with a 15lb king and a shaker. Not much radio chatter and didn't see another net dip all day. Water was really messed up I would have 44 degree water on the probe 70 down then it would pop up to 52 degrees temps were all over the map. What worked 400cu with a wonderbread ace hi 15lb king 8 color with a stinger uv blue dolphin shaker Wire diver on 2 back 175 with a BW rubber poofster combo took a massive rip and broke off when the line got twisted up on the reel after the first run:mad: 300 cu with a mongoose j-plug swing and a miss. Nothing on meat and spinnys
  2. Fished in Ludington last weekend. Fish were in the PM saw a few taken on the ride out of the channel and lots of fish rising. We fished the stick and took 2-3 fish per trip. Not a lot of action but the fish we caught were slobs. Meat rigs, paddle/fly and plugs.
  3. Hey guys quick question. Looking at getting a fish mounted and wanted opinions on taxidermist in the Grand Rapids area. Any and all feedback good and bad would be appreciated. THANKS MIKE
  4. Drove up Friday morning and decided to head out for a few hours before we could check in to the hotel. Fished from noon till 4 going 1-1 with a 18# king on a BW rubber poofster combo on a wire diver, waves were alitte bit to much for the wife so we headed in. Saturday morning we were setting lines by 7 and fished to 11:30 going 3-4 with a coho and 2 big kings which were a real joy to see my wife try to reel in! Took em to Capt. Chucks and they went 22lbs 6 oz and 25 lbs 10 oz Kings came on a lucky charms plug on a 225 cu and a cold steel meat rig behind a showtime SD.
  5. My wife has a trailblazer with the 4.2. Not as "doggy" as the old 4.3 but she maybe gets 15-16 mpg. We have towed a 17ft flatbottom duck boat with it and it did fine.
  6. 6 foot leads with a Orange offshore release.
  7. Boat is a 1990..not sure ?
  8. Thinking about putting a auto pilot on my wish list for the winter. I have a older Crestliner Sabre with a 4.3 mercruiser with power steering that is a real b**** to drive, leaving the wheel for a few seconds to net a fish and the boat wants to start doing circles. So anyway looking for suggestions on manufacturers and models that some of you have had experiences with. Cost, difficulty of installation or place around Grand Rapids they had do the install. Thanks Mike
  9. Line Dancing do you find you get many false releases with the big John's? I've had the misfortune of having a few boards dive on me no matter how careful you are.. and they usually resulted in a big tangle or a lost board.
  10. Gonna be in August Gres all next week hope the hot fishing continues!

  13. I've used a site called iboats.com. They have specific forums for each manufacturer. It might take some searching, but you should find some help. Or you can post your exact problem and probably find your answer.

  17. Hey guys quick question. How do you attach the cannonball to the rigger line? I have heavy duty coastlock snaps that came on the used boat I bought. The reason I'm asking this is I had one break right in half on me last summer. Had real fun crimping on a new one in 3 footers in the pitch dark! Just thought there might be a better option. I am installing a depth raider next week and had me thinking about it. Thanks in advance.
