    Check the screen at the fuel pick up in the tank. My boat has a screen there, a fuel filter and another screen at the carb. I had this problem (but no backfiring) and resolved it cleaning the 2 screens and a new fuel filter.

    I have not been fishing since early April either and that was pier and beach then. Have not splashed my boat, latest ever in my life. Looks like Im missing the entire spring trolling at St Joe. That has been due to turkey hunting and both my kids going now. I'm going to start fishing Memorial day weekend in Pentwater and in past years when we had lots of bait, they would be in the harbor and the mouth of the Sable.     We are done. The final count is John had 10 white fish and I had 7 Whitefish 2 Browns and steelhead.

    I just got a brown. We are fishing by some of the last ice. I was surprised to still have ice here.
