  1. I did a role call a few of the times when I ran the league, at times you felt like the teacher from Ferris Bueller day off. this league has always been about going out and fun fishing. and if you learn something from a fellow fisherman / fisherwoman, than that was a bonus. As for the boat that does not have a radio, I high suggest you get that on your boat before your next trip. Look at it this way, would your family want you to spend money on a fish finder or a device that may save your BUTT.....
  2. Great work, I hope they all got Ice Cream afterward.....
  3. Had a nice full boat of great folks for Saturday. Bob -"Coralee", Aaron - "Linedancin" , his son Evan, and his Dad Denis. Left Dock 5:30, and waited at pier head for the 6am start for the WMFL. Went south for about a mile then ran out to 70 feet, set lines on a south west troll. Ended 6 for 7, only bringing 5 fish in as one trout was undersize. no deeper than 105. What was hot. 300 Bloodrun copper with Silver Streak Blue jeans spoon, went twice = King & trout 250 bloodrun copper Green ace hi splatter back plug = King 200 Bloodrun copper DW green dolphin = Trout rigger went once Tin can & green spin-n-glow = throw back trout wire diver with 11" white slick paddle blue bubble spoon = Trout. Then the weather kicked us and everyone else with common sense off the lake. We were off the water by 9:45 I think, it all was a blur after that first lighting strike, pull lines as fast a possible, and run the boat as hard as she would go toward the pierhead. Was good to see some familiar faces at the WMFL weight-in.
  4. 32 ' w/twin 454's. $ 80 to $120 per trip. Ran a 24' w/ single 350 before this boat $50 to $80 per trip. $$$ Worth the comfort.
  5. my last three trip out have produced zero spoon bites.
  6. Welcome to glf. Thanks for the info.
  7. thanks Ted for the report
  8. Either Way will get you in the zone, Have a tin can with spin & glow 10-15 behind. You will find green.
  9. Thanks to Aaron and his son Evan for going along. Went 8 for 6 (I don't count the small shakers that never pulled back on the long lines) Straight out of holland setup in 60 fow stayed in 80 to 100 all day doing circles between holland and saugy. Yes I was lost in the fog. 1 nice King (11#) - two shakers rest all Lakers. big laker was just over 17# what worked best Silver Streak UV half black/half chrome with black ladder on a 250 32# Bloodrun copper setup. went 4 times. big king was on Silver Steak lemon ice spoon rigger 60 down. big laker was on rigger sliver tin can with small green spin-n-glow, pounding the bottom. divers never went. shakers were on 50 foot coopers with reels with poor drags. drug the life right out of these poor fish. two other items. one of the lakers had a fresh lamprey scar. no blood in this fish when cleaning and the liver was yellowish / green. second, the tranny blew a seal, we caught it right away and shut that motor down. boat will be coming back out end of this weekend and hope I will have it back in the water within a couple of days.
  10. on the other hand, we watched a disturbed boater power hard away from the Holland DNR launch this weekend. with a simple yell to slow down he proceeded to flip me off and then call me names. I invited him back to the dock to further discuss his cranial-anal inversion, he kept going at over no wake speed. the sheriff boat was just around the corner and Karma took its course.... I hope he did get a ticket. and if you are on this site - I hope you enjoyed it....

  16. Very cool on that once in a lifetime fish.
  17. The wife and I grabbed a pizza, bottle of wine, and six rods and headed out for a shakedown trip Saturday night Headed south, setup just outside the pier head. Move in to 15 fow. Ran all spoons. Went 2 for 3. Fish came 3 miles south. Pictured fish was a 3 color with mixed veggies. Other fish landed was on a 150 blood run setup silver streak mini yellow with 3 orange dots. Great sunset, boat ran great everything worked. Not bad for 1 1/2 hours.
