  1. I like the background music
  2. I bought a Hummingbird 900 series two summers ago, and did not buy the built in maps bundle for an extra 200. Instead I used the base maps and bought the great lakes chip that came with the second fish n chip that shows the depth details in all the great lakes by using depth lines. I cannot believe how accurate the depth lines are on the chip, they are almost always the same as the depth reading on the fishfinder.
  3. Last fall my Okuma Blue Diamond roller rods broke off in the holders (3) and Jay's in Clare got the manufacturer to upgrade to the great lakes roller rods (same roller system as the Telora) as well as upgrading the reels to the Catalina series. Sweet! While I was at it, I had them set me up two copper reels with 45# copper and 30# mono backer, I have never used copper with an inline board before and this is my question. I run one wire dipsey off each side of the boat using mag. divers with the ring set on #3, out 150' to 200'. If I am running 300' of copper or 150' of copper with the copper being the inside line on a 3 line spread, what concerns should I have with the wire line tangling with the copper? I would appreciate your input.
  4. Go to Jay's Sporting Goods in Clare or Gaylord, if you call them you can have them ups them to you.
  5. On my unit, the compass inside the unit has a post sticking out of the top and there are metal pickups that are touching the post to make a connection, clean this area with alcohol and qtips, mine was quite dirty.
  6. This may not be the same situation, but I was having similar problems and cleaned the electrical contacts on the auto pilot compass and that took care of the problem. It takes very little dust to corrupt the connection. You can also call the manufacturer and find out the compass settings for your area of fishing. If the person you bought the unit from was far enough away you may have to change those settings. Also, there should be a gain adustment to fine tune the autopilot compass to keep it from overcorrecting, you have to be on the water to perform this adjustment.
  7. How about directions for some hot hooters?
  8. Nice boat, should be a blast to fish out of.
  9. For a location you might try the Grand Rapids chapter of the Steelheaders. They are in an old church, and you might be able to team up with them on meeting nights.
  10. By the time they get this issue straightened out, it will be too late. The carp will have already gotten a foothold.
  11. But how do you remember which color of tape goes to how many colors of lead core? I would have to hang a chart on the boat to remember.
  12. That sounds like a pretty good price for a new carb. Is it a 4 barrell?
  13. I bought a hook sharpener that looks alot like that diamond rod, it has a v groove in it for the hooks, it does a real nice job of straightening and putting a nice edge on a knife if you don't have a stone handy.
  14. I would be interested in Ludington at the least
  15. You also might want to check the manual that came with the videocamera, alot of the newer ones have image stabilization mode that is used while filming.
  16. This is the first year that our family has drawn names for presents to keep costs down for everyone. It has alway been everyone buys for everyone, I guess this will make shopping a little easier.
  17. New radar setup, color screen with one of those rotating doojiggies on top
  18. how about a snowmobiling section, seems like the chatter dies down alot in the winter, might be a nice way to keep things going
  19. I used a couple of ProTroll uv flashers, and I had really good results, I tried to have at least 1 out every time.
  20. Man, that's like letting a girl join your weekly poker game.
