  1. Wish I would have stayed in (shallow) Sat night. Went out to 270 out of ps and got sick of not marking fish. Caught a few on the way back in the 135 area and were markign lots of fish 25feet down.
  2. SWEEEEEET. Nice job Phil. Man, we should all just pick up our boats and head north on the trailer.
  3. SWEET. Though I as SUPER bummed. Can't make the date on July 11th. Still trying to figure it out, but it don't look good.
  4. DID someone say Skamania????? I can't believe you dropped that word. Now I'm excited. Great job out there diesel. I'm sure we'll catch you on the water at some point.
  5. Nice job. You are right, still some fish left, but certainly slowing down. Great job sticking with it.
  6. Nice night on the water with the top up. A little damp, but we were no worse for the wear. Less than 1 footer which is only the second or third time that has happened for us so I was pretty happy. I was joined by my Buddy Matt, his father Larry and his uncle Adrian. What a great bunch. Fishing was S L O W. Ended up 3 for 3 with some nice fish. 8lb king, 9lb king, and a 6 lb laker. Fished in 135-165fow. North troll, south troll, east troll, upside down troll. Didn't seem to matter. Surprisingly the dipseys went twice, each with kings and the 300ft of copper went with the laker. Dipseys were 170back on 2, green dolphin echip with a green and white fly, 150back on 2 with a nbk echip and a green fly. Copper was a nitro nbk stinger after we set our night spread. Wednesday night I changed my hooks on my flies. I went with a single gamakatsu hook with another as a trailer. I had been getting knock offs and fish not making it to the boat with my dipsey/fly setup. NOT last night. Two on two in the box. MAN those hooks are sharp. One hooked on the trailer and one actually hooked on the first hook.
  7. Sweet. I hope you stayed shallow. I am sick of these 250fow+ reports. Good to know someone is catching inside 150 still.
  8. Sweeeeet. Where has that water been lately. Nice and flat.
  9. WOWZA. That is a nice fish. Gas prices were starting to wear on me and I was even flirting with the idea of taking a weekend off. Thanks for the refresher.
  10. We've had a few decent sunsets this year. here is one from Memorial weekend.
  11. That is awesome. Every fishing trip usually comes with a story and that is a great one.
  12. Great job. Nothing big for us this weekend either, but some great grillers.
  13. Nice work. I have that problem too. Get up as 3:00 excited and everyone else drags butt to the dock. HAHAHA.
  14. Shallow ??? Most of us were wasting our time on shakers this weekend deep. If only we had known. Great job out there.
  15. Nice work Don. SOOOO, you did pull the trigger and go copper. Keep us in the loop as to how you like it.
  16. FINALLY got the picture. Best fish of the year so far and I almost didn't get a picture. No ones fault, just bounced around in email for a while.
  17. nick, great job again man. the only suggestion I have is that if we could get everyone to agree to run 9 poles, that would be more worth burning the gas, especially with the depths we are starting to run out to. If not, I know it keeps it fair. Maybe we could put it to a vote when people are signing up for each event. Just an idea. I know it would match the 15 fish limit (3 man). I posted some pictures on the site. Put them in here: http://www.greatlakesfisherman.com/gallery/browseimages.php?c=12&userid= Hope that is the right place. Thanks again man. Can't wait for the next one.
  18. Could not find the fish today that weighed worth a darn. Ended up 6 for 10. Lost a 53pounders on copper. OK, maybe it was foul hooked laker, which would make me feel better. We never got a look so that is the story I am sticking with. Fished 140fow to 195fow. Most fish came in the 145-165fow area. Bigger fish are out deeper and I proved it. All kings today. copper 300ft went 5 times. Rigger actually went 4 times, mostly on the free slider 10 ft above the 45ft depth (45-55 were the rigger depths most of the day). Dipsey back 170 on 2 with same setup as day before went. Green dolphin echip with green and white fly. Even tried 11" echip boards on the downriggers. Popped once but no-one home. Nothing went on full core or half core, but we had a tough time keeping the lines straight. Lures were area 51 nitro, nuclear waste mag, glo puke and I think the coyote. only 2 foot waves, but it was really tough to control the boat today.
  19. Did pretty well prefishing for the sat morning tourney on friday night. Ended up 9 for 10, threw two of the 9 back. Small laker and small king. Of the 7 fish we had 15lbs3oz, 13lbs, 11lbs, 7.5lbs., 7.5lbs, 6lbs, 3lbs. Log was not very good because all the action happened pretty fast, but I will try to get the details right. Started in 200fow and found really cold water. From there we headed in and found the best water in 145fow down 45-60 it was 44-47degrees. 300ft of copper went twice. Full core went 4 times. Rigger went 3 times. Dipsey out 170 on 2 went once. Lures were nuclear waste, nitro ET, nitro area 51, glo puke, nitro nbk and a echip green dolphin with a green fly. Just wish we could have found these fish back Sat morning.
  20. Great job. Had you been fishing the tourney you would have finished very well. You should join us. We'd love to have more people in the tourneys.
  21. Phil, Great job. I heard you out there on the radio, but for some reason people could not here me respond. Sorry man. I had the same issue with Paulywood (nick) in the tourney. I was in 145fow so if you were deep with the other guys that may have been it.
  22. We are going tonight too, so I'll catch you on chanel 68 on the water. Good luck. See you at the weigh in.
  23. Nick, lines wet at 5 right? We are planning on leaving the dock at 4, so I will pay you at the weigh in if that is cool. Still chanel 72???? I'll check 68 and 72 so I am sure we will find you.
  24. Nice shake down trip. Like you said, at least the winter skunk is out.
