  1. Started out in 70 fow and never really left that depth. Lines in 5:30 am. Trolled south mostly. 5:45 am: 5 lb king, high diver back 100 ft, mag bloody nose. 6:00 am ish: as soon as I put the diver back down it got hit again and so did rigger with ms green jeans, and so did fullcore with mag Shelly Snack. Tripled up running solo. Managed to land all three in spite of the fact I buried the lure on the first one in the net and getting tangled with another line. Chaos. Un snapped the lure and landed the other two with the lure still in the net. Four in the boat by 6:30(5,6,7,9 lb kings). 7:00 am: miss on diver again back 100 with bloody nose 8:15 am: in search of the 5th for my limit since 6:30 am. Finally gave and up pulled lines, and of course there was a shaker(released) on the leadcore. Go figure.
  2. Can you enlighten me on the project? Magic bait balls scented to attract salmon? If so, LIKE.
  3. Filing up the freezer 2MD! What a fun outing.
  4. Stinks to lose a net but an adventure to try to land them without one. Good job getting on the fish. Sent from my iPhone using Great Lakes Fisherman
  5. 2MD slaying them before a storm. Seems like I’ve read this story before!! Great job. Nice to see a great box like this.
  6. Good work Zgrinder!!!! Sent from my iPhone using Great Lakes Fisherman
  7. Tough stuff Littleboat. Glad to hear you’re on the repair!
  8. Yeah. Seems like I haven’t been out in forever. I was running old school this morning just using the buoy for water depth temperature. My first mate (me) forgot to charge my probe.
  9. Lake was flat and temperature pleasant. Lines in a little after daybreak. 6:45 am: 5 lb king, rigger down 100 ft, 130 fow, meat rig. 8:15 am: small lake trout(released), same rigger down 105 ft, meat rig, 131 fow. Fished 120-150 fow. Marked the most fish, by far in 130 fow. Pulled lines early at 9 am due to Father’s Day plans. What didn’t work: 300 copper with various size and color spoons. No hits on flasher flys.
  10. New style meat rig! Crazy Sent from my iPhone using Great Lakes Fisherman
  11. It’s been tough so far. The hook ups seemed to be light when they come too. I don’t remember June being stellar last year either. Let’s hope July is better! Sent from my iPhone using Great Lakes Fisherman
  12. 1-3 this morning. Lake was flat and beautiful. All hits between 6-7 am in 80-90 FOW. Was probably a good half hour late to set lines. 6:00 am: 5 lb king, 10 color, MS mag Green Jeans, hit before I could get my other lines in the water. 6:30 am: lost a decent size fish after a short run. Dipsy, 3 setting back 130 ft, MS mag flounder pounder. 6:50 am: same dipsy and lure back 130 ft. Probably a steelhead as it did three spectacular jump dances and came unhooked on the fourth jump. Wish I had it on video, quite a show. Started in 80 fow out to 130 fow. Marked the most fish, by far, in 90 fow. Just couldn’t get them to go after 7 am. Tried mags, super slims, regulars in various colors, and a few flasher fly combos. Most fish marked down 50-65 ft. Did run a rigger deeper for a while but no takers.
  13. Congratulations on the new boat. Always an exciting day!
  14. 6/3 Evening A beautiful night on the lake. Plenty of boats past 130 FOW. Thought I would try inside following Jolly Times lead. Started in 110 FOW trolling south in to 85 FOW. No hits until 8 pm when I hooked up with a nice size king by mistake while pulling in a rigger to change presentation in 90 FOW. Line was probably in 20 FOW at the time. Unfortunately I lost it at the boat. Was a bit fresh and I probably horsed it in too fast given how shallow it was when it hit. Mag Flounder pounder. Hooked up a small king that I released at 8:30 pm in 75 FOW on north troll. 2.6 speed at ball. 200 weighted steel, standard Mongolian beef. Full core went off at 9:15 pm in 60 FOW, mag happy meal. Lost it half way to the boat. Overall slow going inside everyone else but an absolutely gorgeous night. Sent from my iPhone using Great Lakes Fisherman
  15. Waves have been getting in the way lately. Nice dinner there!
  16. Yes. Trolled toward the sun early to get a bit more visibility.
  17. Beautiful morning on the lake today. A bit foggy at first but lake waves were 1 ft or less by 8 am. Got a late start with first line in around 7 am. Before I could get my second line in the water a 11 lb king hit a MS Dancing Anchovy on a 10 color leadcore in 90 fow. Trolled out to 150 fow with best marks in 130-135 fow. Had a double in 135 fow but lost them both. Then another miss in 130 fow which I managed to lose as well. 3 misses seemed to be light hook ups. Talked to one boat at DNR cleaning station. They had 5 kings in 200 fow. Not my best outing but did have a buddy (bird) join me and the dinner was delicious.
  18. Thanks for the report. Might try to get out tomorrow am. Having a depth to start at is very helpful.
  19. Great work! Beautiful brown. Your efforts to fight the NW winds paid off. Congratulations. Sent from my iPhone using Great Lakes Fisherman
