  4. Way to find the fish! Nice box.
  5. 4 for 4 tonight. 3 kings and one laker. Flies were crazy bad. It was calm and hazy earlier and then the fog came in big time at last light. All fish came late in the evening. We started in 140fow and didn't mark much. Pushed out to 160 and still not much. Angle in towards shore on a north northeast troll. Then turned and went south to end the evening. Finally found fish and bait inside 100fow. High dipsey out 210 and 260 on setting 3 took to small kings. Alien breath mag and parrot something green and blue. Laker rig bouncing the bottom took the laker. An earlier bite on a 5 color with fireball with dingles started our evening's catch. 2.7-3.0 at the ball was what worked for us. 10. Good coho fishing in St Joe. Hoping the coho migrate up the lake in the near future. Would enjoy adding a few to my dinner table!

  12. It’s June. A few weeks of suck until things set up for the summer. If you’re bored we had an absolute riot working the piers for sheep between the salmon boats, few that there were, heading out and the hangover crowd showing up. Could only run four lines don’t think we went ten minutes without a fish and a couple times had no lines in the water…
  13. Gotta appreciate a fish that has dinner then decided it needs more. That’s crazy…
  14. It’s been tough so far. The hook ups seemed to be light when they come too. I don’t remember June being stellar last year either. Let’s hope July is better! Sent from my iPhone using Great Lakes Fisherman
  15. Fished St. Joe 6/7. Wound up 7-8. Kept 6, one little shaker went back. The lake trout is to be smoked for our Canadian fishing trip in August. Also nice steelhead and 4 nice coho. 55’-75’ of water, 58’-64’ was best. Ran small orange colored spoons (some with gold backs) and orange coho dodger/peanut fly combos on a 9 rod set of Downriggers down 40’ and 50’, 3 and 4 colors leadcore, 100’, 150’ and 200’ of copper. Went south out of the pierhead all the way down to Cook. Water temp was 62 at the surface and 58 at the ball. Had something weird that’s never happened before. The one we lost came unbuckled just as we went to net it. It appeared to not be hooked. Fought it all the way in and all we had to show for our efforts was a cross hooked, mangled bait fish ripped out of the fishes mouth. That fish was hanging on for dear life to his dinner then said the hell with this nonsense when he saw the net. Lots of bait balls in the water including this little guy. Not sure what he was thinking. He was legitimately hooked in the mouth so we went 8-9 if you count this one too [emoji1] Cleaned fish were full of bait fish. 16. I'm surprised the night bite didn't produce better. It looks like a long fishing season until something changes. Good luck to all of us, we'll need it. Sent from my SM-A156U1 using Great Lakes Fisherman mobile app
  17. Decided with Janet out of town for the evening, to jump on the favorable weather and fish! Set down in 100 FOW half way to Saugy and got a tip up and short fight right away. Thinking we got some action here tonight but that was not the case. With the north wind bump later afternoon, decided to put out 2 riggers with spoons and 10 color LC. Was thinking all long lines when I left the harbor but backed away from that once I got a grip on the rollers from the north. Marked a lot of fish between 45-85 down in 104FOW on a south troll but nothing would bite. Tried to move the big hooks off the bottom to no avail. Caught my lone king in 92 FOW at dusk and let it go. That was a bit of a surprise cause I marked noting inside of 100FOW. Ran all spoons and one lip-less crank bait on the LC. Greens/whites/purples/spots/BN on the spoon colors, not that it mattered. I had the SWR and long lead riggers all over the water column and nothing would bite. Black flies seemed to find their way on the boat during the north troll - so happy to clean that up. It was a nice evening for a float but man, where are the fish?
  18. Just got it off the grill!

  20. There aren't many places in the world where you can go and walleye fish with so many fish jammed into one section of the lake. Fishing the western basin of Lake Erie the walleye were on fire. Lake Erie Walleye Trolling Video
  21. 1-3 this morning. Lake was flat and beautiful. All hits between 6-7 am in 80-90 FOW. Was probably a good half hour late to set lines. 6:00 am: 5 lb king, 10 color, MS mag Green Jeans, hit before I could get my other lines in the water. 6:30 am: lost a decent size fish after a short run. Dipsy, 3 setting back 130 ft, MS mag flounder pounder. 6:50 am: same dipsy and lure back 130 ft. Probably a steelhead as it did three spectacular jump dances and came unhooked on the fourth jump. Wish I had it on video, quite a show. Started in 80 fow out to 130 fow. Marked the most fish, by far, in 90 fow. Just couldn’t get them to go after 7 am. Tried mags, super slims, regulars in various colors, and a few flasher fly combos. Most fish marked down 50-65 ft. Did run a rigger deeper for a while but no takers.
  22. I think I am going to try a crazy fish. I rarely and I mean rarely go 9it I ast 200-250fow. I think I am going to try out past 300 just to see what might be out there. The fish have to be somewhere. 1 year olds and steelhead are in shallow. I want to find some bigger fish.
  23. Well, you were in fish. I think the fishing is just tough right now. 4-6 hook ups is pretty good right now. Getting them in the b8at is always the trick. Glad you had a n8ce night out on the water.
  24. Could someone please reply to this boat for sale ad? This is the first time I have place a paid ad to sell something and Im not sure how this works? Does it post right underneath my ad, do I get an email or both. Thanks
  25. Your new ride appears to have ample fish catching room on the aft end. Hope you catch a bunch! What is her name????
  26. Your a crack of dawn troller! Happy you tried the evenng bite. Unfortunately, it is slow morning, noon or night on this side of the lake. Need to check in how Illlinois/Wisconsin are doing. Happy fishing!
  27. I know that boat is looking for more things to add. They always do. Sent from my SM-A156U1 using Great Lakes Fisherman mobile app
