We trolled from 5:30 to about 10 and wound up 2 for 6. We started out in 65 ft to see if any of the stuff we were marking would materialize. Almost right away the first downrigger I set took a good hit but got off after a couple head shakes. After about a half hour we started trolling out and picked up an 18# king in 76 fow on the same downrigger. After a bit of a dry my dad noticed one of our downriggers was pulling funny so I brought it up and it had about a 1# coho on it. Shortly after setting it back down in about 100 feet that same downrigger took a hit but it didn't stay on. After another dry spell we slid out to 140 and our 300 copper took back to back hits but both got off about half way in. Not sure why we had such a hard time keeping the things on. Here's what took the hits:

 

1-2 pro troll psycho perch standard flasher with a rapture illusion UV fly on a downrigger 45 ft down

 

1-2 moonshine magnum flounder pounder on a downrigger 65 ft down

 

0-2 mixed veggies spindoctor with a fake news meat rig on 300 copper

Nice fish!

I think we were coming in while you were going out. We were out from about 4:45-5:30. The lightning was spooking us so we decided not to set lines and hightailed it back in. We passed a couple of guys that were going out.

I was a little nervous with the lightning but we could see on the radar it was well south of us, our eyes were glued on that horizon though

great king!  Thats is what I like to fish for.
