2MD Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago PUG setup in 140ish on a SW troll and hit like 6 bites right on the set so we all thought it was gonna be a banger of a night ended up 9 for 18 or something like that deepest we trolled was 175 problem we ran into was all the fish out deep were kinda small and FBD reported some bigger ones in that 50-70 fow so we eventually trolled in which was a conducive decision with the fog as thick as it was pretty much all the quality action came in the top 40 feet rigger with a half a meal moonshine spoon was best down 38 half cores went several times copp150s sounded off too high dipsey lost a good one twas a slow ride in and back to the dock on far east side of Macatawa as the fog only intensified as the night went on 20260524_214513.mp4 20260524_214328.mp4 3
jdh Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago The fog was something. Wouldn't have gone out - but someone on the radio said it was clear in 170 fow. It was not... Nor was it clear in 200 fow.
DipsyDew Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago Nice job guys! And good job by PUG and the gang navigating in that fog.
littleboat Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago Thanks for the report. Fog is the worst. Well it sounded like you lost the flys.Sent from my SM-A156U1 using Great Lakes Fisherman mobile app
CAC Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago We took friends out in Whitehall last night and caught 8 kings 2 coho and 1 laker from 150-230. We only threw back 1 shaker. Most fish were 55-80 down with 3 or 4 on dipsys back 100-160. The fog was terrible. The radar was indispensable!Captain ClydeSent from my iPhone using Great Lakes Fisherman 1
FBD Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago Could still see the planer boards so it wasn’t so bad, but not having waves or wind made holding a troll a bit of a trick. 1
2MD Posted 5 hours ago Author Posted 5 hours ago the BAIT sure was ultra -present as we pushed into and thru Holland channel in that thick fog - probably should've just fished in tight all night - one of my sons woke up early and went back with a cast net and loaded up early this morning - oh to be young and never have to sleep!
FBD Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Did two laps in close last night never marked a fish or anything else when we worked from the sine climb back to the piers in 10-20’
