charging glow spoons

Recommended Posts

The sun is the best, if it's daylight. If it's dark I place my glow stuff on my engine cover, and turn my two 55 W halogen fishing lights on to charge them on the way out. I also give them a flash or shine them with an L.E.D. light before use.

I have a dual beam light both flouresant and blacklight wired on my boat I use it for long term soak. I also use a couple of camera flash units for quick touch ups or to toss out a lure in a hurry but the blacklight and flouresant work best.

Has anyone noticed if there lures were too bright?? What I mean is has anyone gotten hits right away or are they down for awhile before they get hit? I agree daylight seems to work the best for me. I usually take my glows out in the afternoon while we are trolling and let them charge up.

Ive had that go both ways. Sometimes i no more than set the rod in the rod holder and a fish hits, others theres a bit of soak before things go. So, i guess i have to say it varies.

Thats why i usually start my spread out with different levels of glow. Some baits are painted with super glow, others standard glow and some only have glow tape or no glow on them at all.

Moonshine lures can be over charged. I don't charge them as long or use the 55 watt bulb to charge with. Something that bright just looks unnatural.
