Killin' It

Thanks all for the come backs on this thread. Jimmy, I pulled out my GPS and looked at the waypoints from my first summer on the lake. I have 2 major piles of "hook ups" South of Holland in that 50-70 fow area. I know I started down that way 60% of the time this summer for that reason. I went down that way one morning after talking to Ken who was KILLING the fish inside north of Holland. The problem with that morning was 30 boats were all over each other in that small area. I said the heck with it pulled everything and RAN south. ended up 5-7 down there. (which is good for me) I know alot of the perch guys run half way to Saugatuck from holland some days when the bite is slow in the hole north of the pier, I have never looked around that area. Does it have a creek or something that comes into the lake>??

So..... Call me a sheep if you want, but I have been reading Keeting on kings- I am 60 pages in or so and he talks alot about bottom structure and so on. I know I have found 2 spots with a random "hump" but nothing else from PS to Saugatuck. I would assume that My graph is outdated and this could be part of the problem. Does anyone else have these type of spots marked in the GPS or do most of you fish the Thermocline?

Jimmy You will have to show me how to do this.... I want to target lakers more this year so if I can not get on kings I can at least catch fish. what size spin glow

I have the spring loaded tree's and love them I need move them in the spring and re mount them, minor details.

1-5 on spawn today Took some fresh spawn out... Let the weekend begin. I hope the warm weather causes ALL the snow to melt and for the warmer water to bring in some browns.

I got my sample the other day as well. I already was Fantasy fishing looking at my box of paddles.

When I cut her open the eggs were all very small and dark black. Something must have messed with her reproductive cycle:( oh well. I had to take the day off today, but I will be back at it the rest of the week. If anyone is headed up north to float bobbers this winter, let me know. Its an experance I have not yet tried.

Fished with a good friend this morning 1-1 on a pink jig tipped with a waxworm. slow morning, but alot of fun;)

I had more luck on SD then other flashers last year. 10" Blue SD with a bush light fly by big weenie, right out of the package and onto the SD worked best. Dave

Fished this morning 0-0..... boring morning, but Awsome time on the water.

I want some west wind.. A bit of surf and who knows maybe a brown or two will be lurking.

Sad to say it was a buck:( I need to round up some steel eggs for the rest of the winter. I am going back out in the morning. We do not have much planned untill 5 pm on christmas day.

Took my old boss fishing today... 1-3 on spawn;) Pictures to come.

Caught a nice colored up steel today..... I am JONESED more then ever now;)

I picked up some today... wife picked a few out too.. SOOOO I got to buy twice as many:)

I went down saugatuck to visit Aaron today... and walked away with one:) I plan to add a few more to my spread before spring. Picked up some other spoons and a meat rig as well. Also picked up some larger spin glows for lakers. How big is too big?

Did anyone run them during the summer? I know alot of guys run standard sizes and mags.... Just wondering if scaling down does the trick once and a while??

I have ace hi and have yet to catch a fish on them. Old school j plugs... I found a box full from when I was growing up fishing with my father and grand father... they are going in a shadow box. They are pretty beat up... but I can remember catching fish on all of them;) The memory is worth more then the money spent buying new;)

Lures and hooks............. check, New saftey gear for boat...........check extra leaders...................check Finding someone I trust to repaint the boat ..... in progress (any suggestions) trying to figure out a better way to mount trees..... in progress Looking at the rods every day dreaming.... check buying stuff and making the wife mad.... double check.

How do I find that... not as computer savey as I was 10 years ago:(
