  1. I have 5mm with 1200 gram boots for fishing the late winter and 3mm for the fall.
  2. If you are ever wanting to fish the west side, let me know your more then welcome to tag along. I have extra rods, bait, whatever... This includes wadders as well. ( Size 12)
  3. The question is what do you want to do the most. For surf fishing (for bait) I use 12' Whoopin sticks from cabalas. For the price point of 24 dollars they can not be beat. Match it with some decent reels that hold a fair amount of line. For casting in the surf I use 8'6 Gander steelhead rod with a Okuma reel. River float rod That is truly up to you. I have a 10' south bend ultra light that I love. All the set ups I run cost under 100 dollars each. The rod does not make the fisherman....
  4. The boat motor is done;) Go me:) Going to strip her the rest of the way down this week and put her away... *SAD FACE* Thanks for all the help guys:)
  5. 2 stroke yes... I am going to take a look at it sunday after church. If I can not figure it out TGA any time monday before 1pm works. I will let you know.
  6. Hey Ken, If you have time in the near future to stop by I have a bag full of Crane's doughnuts:) I can try and pay you off with those. Once I do it the first time (with help) I should have no problem doing it in the future
  7. Anyone want to earn some extra cash... I have no idea how to do that or should i just bring it in.
  8. I am going to pack the boat up and put it away this weekend. I found some heated storage down the road from my house at a decent price and she will be the first boat in line on the way out. Since the storage area is kept above freezing what do I need to do to keep the boat and motor in good condition till spring. Do I still need to get her winterized since she is going to be in heated storage? Dave
  9. I have not forgot about this post... 1. Casting Spoons/cranks ie J-13's etc (there really isnt too much to this is there? cast and retrieve) There is alot more to it then that really... Weather, current, water color, bait, no bait, time of day... Some days chucking spoons is just not worth it. 2. Using spawn... This is really the ticket I think... Most the fisherman I see are using this in some shape or form. basically seen one rig looked like an egg sinker tied with a palomar knot and the tag end about 18 inches had either the single hook or treble with the floating spawn sac. This is my fav. way to fish. Good spawn and decent weather can = alot OF FISH. I use an sinker on a snap swivel that slides up and down the main line then a bead followed by a barrel swivel. I then hook my floro leader to this. Leader could be 10'-??? It all depends. 3. Floating spawn? No idea how this is done. I don't float spawn... no help here
  10. I will reply to this when I get home from class... It will take me a while to write lol
  11. Check the piers... watch the pier guys on the way out.. I know Holland has had a fresh batch of fish each day this weekend. Not alot of fish, but fish enough;)
  12. hahaha.. you caught the bottom too...I am not the only one;) A nice push of bucks came in last night Kevin. The pier ended up with 12 fish.
  13. fished this morning from a WSP and went 2-3. 1 hen 1 male... BOTH VERY VERY FRESH.... Both fish went around 15# Coho and browns also around the piers. The father in law got a 18# hen and a 5# brown.
  14. In October and early November good king spawn will produce 2-1 over steelie spawn... Now the rest of the time your right steelie spawn will do better.
  15. LOL Nailer... He needs to go to another fish cleaning station.. That is the fishcleaning station I panhandle spawn from.
  16. I am going to do some spawn hunting this weekend. If I get extra I will save it for you... I may have a seat open on the boat too if your interested.
  17. Interesting.... Wife wanted to go for a boat ride yesterday so I left the trolling gear at home. I took the boat down to Saugy and launched from schultz park. ..... WHAT A MISTAKE.... Water depth was 1.2 feet most of the way across till I got to the far side near the far shore. After making it under Blue Star bridge depth was ok. We motored out the pier heads to find some nice chop so we spun around and stopped at the cove inside the pierheads. On our way back to the dock we found a Pod of kings swimming near the surface around Coral Gables. I am going to troll the river Thursday morning.... Should I put in down town or by the Big boat off of Blue star.
  18. Anyone have a decent place to store boats for the winter? I have been doing some calling around, but I was wondering if anyone knew of any places that are better then the rest?
  19. I fished the last 2 days at a SWM pier and channel. Saturday morning I never had a hit, but my group ended up with 3 all on casting spoons. No color was better then any other. I saw 10 fish caught Last night I trolled the channel and harbor for 3 hours getting 1 shaker and a white bass Sunday morning was mostly unfishable off the pier. Good things will come to those who wait.
  20. Dirty Dog, I agree with your report. I have been checking my few spots in the Hamilton area and only seeing a few fish here and there. I know the Kzoo still has some good numbers of steel in them, but I just have not made time to get out and catch them. Their time will come....in the spring after I recover from getting cut open by the Doc. All in all.........It is going to be a drawn out run.
  21. We want boat porn;) Fish porn is just as good too:)
  22. I know I can catch fish from the piers Randy, however If people know of better ways then what I am doing I am going to use them. I have very very limited time to fish now because of full time class and full time work. So each and every trip I have to make it worth it.
  23. TGA , Do you put the clear uv on the Inside of the SD then?
