  1. I would be more then willing to show you the ropes... I fish up that way once and a while, but focus most of my fishing around GH and farther south.
  2. I would love to run all copper, but I can not afford to switch over to all new copper rods. I need to make the best of what I have because I want to put a new kicker on the boat this year.
  3. so hmmmm My main reason for adding copper was to run them with Flasher fly combo's. What if I added a 2 oz DB to the coppers that would cause them to drop faster with the FF on them? Then could I run th FC over the top as long as i let it way back to swing it around? any suggestions would be great
  4. Ok... I am going to have 1 350 and 1 300 copper and 2 fulls core 1 5 color 1 7 color 32# blood run copper btw I was thinking port side 350 copper full core of lead 5 color of lead Starbord 300 copper full core 7 color how would everyone run them??
  5. I have caught them around PS in the kayak... but that to is a diffenrt type of fishing all to its own.
  6. What side of the lake are you from? The best thing you can do is get out and fish with someone that knows the ropes. There are alot of unwritten rules of pier fishing around here that I have watched alot of people learn the hard way. If your around the Michigan side of the lake, let me know when you want to go out. I have plenty of extra gear you can use. Also before you go out and buy alot of spoons talk to me first:) I have a bunch of doubles I will let go of very cheap:)
  7. I have not fished them from my motor boat, but you can find them in that area.
  8. I am looking to buy a new 4 stroke Kicker. 9.9 HP Anyone have sugestions of places they have delt with in the past, and brands? Graduation present to myself:) Dave
  9. Define shore fishing?? If your looking to soak spawn or cast spoons your best all around rod is going to be a 8'6 med action Gander Mountian steelhead advantage rod. 50 bucks or so. Match that with a reel with 200+ yards of line and your all set. 10# line covers most situations.... just use a light leaders when fishing bait... IE 4-6#
  10. Name: Dave and Jenn Ash Age: 28 and 31 Residence Location: Holland Michigan Area(s) Most Often Fished: I spent many of my younger years fishing kings on lake michigan with my father. During high school he sold the boat as we did not fish as much as we use too. I did not fish again until I started in during my freshman year in college. This time I was fishing on the piers for Kings, browns, steel. After a while however the now Mrs. Ash was sick of my all night adventures and insisted I buy a boatl:) OK;) I ended up buying a new to me boat last year and havent looked back. As much fun as people make of me I also love to fish carp on light line when I can not make it on the big pond... DONT KNOCK IT TILL YOU TRY IT. Years of Experience: All of my life Boat Size and Info: 18 foot Lowe 2 riggers 2 triple rod tree's 2 divers. Boat Name: "Black Ops" or "Too Short" cant decide... nothing is painted on her now as the entire boat needs a new paint job
  11. After setting up my boat last year and going throught the droves of gear.... here is my .02 As you are on a budget...(most of us are) I would go with with manual riggers. I have Cannons and after I fixed the stupid plastic wheel they work like a champ. Spend your money on the bread and butter of fishing which for my small boat is my divers and my core (copper too). 2 tree's and holders for your divers are way more important then electric riggers IMO. Having the tree's adds rod storage as well as more optios of differnt set ups to run..... Where as riggers.... are just that riggers.
  12. I have fished said lake a few times..... Before I bougth the motor boat I had the kayak and trolling in the clean water can be fun got some nice pike too. Perch.. I have never tried. Nice carp to catch in there too;)
