Sneaked out for a few hours tonight.

Fish look pretty fresh. Enjoyed your reports this year.

That king hit you had right at the pier heads as we dove in front of you and headed up the channel - man we felt that all the way over in our boat…

Rain gonna stop at 2. It didn’t. Wind gonna blow 20-30 out of the NE and build. Dead calm. Fish gonna be in the mud. They were. Fished 3:30-7 yesterday kid had weird hours available due to an orchestra concert tonight, in a miserable pissing drizzle / rain, and kept busy. Mostly deep thundersticks oddly not Firetiger 18’ off yellow birds with a few slide diver mag moonshine hits. Riggers took the night off as did spinnies and paddles and j plugs. Big fish on a moonshine flounder pounder took a two color to over 400’. Ended up 5/7 on hooked fish and many many pull backs on the boards of 5-10’ then gone before we could grab the rod. Mostly smaller males with one big chrome hen.

Bet a bunch ran Monday it was 49 in the Holland Channel. I am hoping for another push later this week as the forecast has nothing but E in it for the next week, and the rain should only help.

We were constantly messing with the lines trying to play chicken with the bottom. And when they bumped we had to trip them and reset. Wasn’t much fun but that’s where the fish were. Last two hits on the riggers were while I was messing with them. Thought I had snugged the rods up too much and popped them off the release both times.

No kidding on the current we had to run like 30 degrees off due N-S and adjust the riggers and divers constantly to play chicken with the bottom.

Probably saw us out there. We had a fun night. Sheep sheep and more sheep enough of that but had to fish within 3’ of the bottom to get salmon. Ended up 9/10 if you include sheep 5/5 if not. Four kings 8-13# and a really nice coho.

Holland 9/4pm lake laid down nicely, I however had a wicked case of the sucks. Marked most fish in 115-120 but had most action in 90-95 if you count multiple short rips on the coppers as action. Ended up with two both on wire divers, a small coho we let go and a 14# hen king…

I don’t eat fish. We released all of them but one that committed suicide by Rapala. It went to my daughter’s boyfriend as he loves fish. Browns smoke really well they are just fatty enough to take a good flavor but not so fatty that they get nasty like lakers.

Went to Lake Ontario to catch browns, and my middle kid gets a 32” pike for her first one. My youngest gets a 37”, to back up the 37” she caught last fall and the 40” she caught the fall before that. I spend a week on Isle Royale and never got one over 29”…

Ever post a fishing report here, or is your trolling on the internet? We went 10/10 on Lake Ontario this spring first time fishing it. Won’t be the last was a wonderful time even if we were plagued with clear cold water and crap weather.

3/5 last night in 120’ fishing 300 copper to riggers on the bottom. BWP down 100-105’ took the kings glow ace high 80 down on a SWR took a coho and lost something. Had out last hit by 8:30 could not buy a bite trolling back in through 120-80 even though our graph looked like demo mode also. Bailed at 9 to catch dinner but the restaurant closed at ten and we got there at 10:02.

I’ve had some messes before but I can’t recall one that epic. Love the details in the report.

4-7’ on the forecast Saturday am kept me at home. Was 1.2 at the buoy at 9

Been a month yes a month like back when it was smoky out there since I’ve been looking for salmon, and my schedule for the next few weeks is garbage. Been living off your reports so thanks for keeping it fresh. Got out about seven last night chugged out at 6mph as the and I quote “nearly calm” offshore forecast was putting waves over the bow if I planed up going NW and going with them wasn’t any option due to about 32,865 sailboats racing right out front. Set up in 80 8 rod spread not much in there but my hunch and Aaron’s report said that should work. Wandered out little birdy told me 120’ was the spot but that’s a huge ride back in at dark with a 7am customer meeting looming and a slow boat. So out we headed and would you not know as soon as we hit 121’ a paddle down 80 fired with a nice king. Lots of marks on 110-120. Headed back in at eight to leave fish to hopefully find fish same paddle fired at 110’ but lost that quickly. Got into 80 and a flounder pounder on a one color down 65’ fired another solid king. Then the paddle had a swing and miss then a wire diver ticking bottom with a green glow ace hi got ripped but came off. Then got a 4# king on the swr. All this by 9 so we are set for the dark bite. Never happened. Don’t know if I left my stuff too deep never marked a fish in 80. Long lines all four of them were up higher then never went all night. Packed up at 9:30 then marked a ton of fish in 75-65 on the ride in. Hmm. Fun trip but I feel I left some meat on the bones.
