  7. I have added those 6" elastic cords to ALL of mine, that way I can put the hook on the reel and I don't worry about it leaving the boat. They have them at Wal Mart for around $3 for 20 of them. Nice little bungee cords. Come in a bottle, saved my rods more than once in the last couple years
  8. Now that didn't take very long at all, did it ? 1st Anti Gun Bill of 2009 was just filed I really hope this is not the "change we need" precedent that this new adminstration is going to take, but on the very 1st day that the 111th Congress took session this new "Blair Holt's Firearm Licensing and Record of Sale Act of 2009" has been filed and sent on to the House Judiciary Committee for review. Seems there is alot of the same verbage that came from House bill HR2666 back in 2007. The significant part of HR2666 is that it was co-sponsored by no other than the President Elect's chief of staff - Rahm Emmanuel !! The "new" Congress sure didn't waste any time on this one. Big Brother's new target: Tracking of all firearms By Drew Zahn © 2009 WorldNetDaily Rep. Bobby Rush, D-Ill. U.S. Rep. Bobby Rush, D-Ill., is hoping to pass a firearm-licensing bill that will significantly rewrite gun-ownership laws in America. Among the more controversial provisions of the bill are requirements that all handgun owners submit to the federal government a photo, thumb print and mental heath records. Further, the bill would order the attorney general to establish a database of every handgun sale, transfer and owner's address in America. The bill claims its purpose is "to protect the public against the unreasonable risk of injury and death associated with the unrecorded sale or transfer of firearms to criminals and youth." Columnist David Codrea of Guns Magazine, however, calls it a "ridiculous affront to liberty." "This is nothing less than a declaration of war on American gun owners," Codrea writes on Gun Rights Rush's proposed bill, H.R. 45, is alternatively known as "Blair Holt's Firearm Licensing and Record of Sale Act of 2009," named after an Illinois teenager killed by a gunshot. According the bill's text, "On the afternoon of May 10, 2007, Blair Holt, a junior at Julian High School in Chicago, was killed on a public bus riding home from school when he used his body to shield a girl who was in the line of fire after a young man boarded the bus and started shooting." The bill then argues that interstate firearm trafficking and children dying from gun violence create legitimate cause for the federal government to monitor gun ownership and transfers in new ways. If passed, the bill would make it illegal to own or possess a "qualifying firearm" – defined as any handgun or any semiautomatic firearm that takes an ammunition clip – without a "Blair Holt" license. To obtain a "Blair Holt" license, an application must be made that includes a photo, address, all previous aliases, thumb print, completion of a written firearm safety test, release of mental health records to the attorney general and a fee not to exceed $25. Further, the bill makes it illegal to transfer ownership of a qualifying firearm to anyone who is not a licensed gun dealer or collector. Exceptions to this rule include transfer to family members by gift or bequest and loans, not to exceed 30 days, of a firearm for lawful purposes "between persons who are personally known to each other." The bill also requires qualifying firearm owners to report all transfers to the attorney general's database. It would also be illegal for a licensed gun owner to fail to record a gun loss or theft within 72 hours or fail to report a change of address within 60 days. And if a minor obtains a weapon and injures someone with it, the owner of the gun – if deemed to have failed to meet certain safety requirements – faces a multiple-year jail sentence. H.R. 45 is a resurfacing of 2007's H.R. 2666, which contained much of the same language and was co-sponsored by 15 other representatives and Barack Obama's current chief of staff, Rahm Emmanuel. H.R. 2666 was assigned to the House Judiciary committee, where no action was taken. H.R. 45 currently has no co-sponsors and is likewise assigned to the House Judiciary committee. 9. When he gets home next Sunday, I will take some pictures and you can tell me if they are in fact the ones you are talking about.
  10. Well I went over and saw my fishin' partner today, was telling him about your set up. He said follow me, went into the basement and retrieved a canvas bag with those plastic boxes in it. Asked me, are these what your talking about ? He must have near 100 of the rattle tots and hot shots in those boxes ! ! ! ! Said he got them at a yard sale, they were all in a big ball, hooks all tangled together spent 3 hours getting them untangled. Best part, he only paid $5.00 for the bunch of them! So, I guess we will be trying your method after all Dan.
  11. Well, I guess I will look for an alternative method then lol
  12. Dan, what size are those rattle tots that you are using ? I don't have any of those, but, I need to buy at least a few. Thanks, Bill

  18. Here it comes, another attempt at gun control. Ammo Tax The bill that is being pushed in 18 states (including Illinois and Indiana) requires all ammunition to be encoded by the manufacture a data base of all ammunition sales. So they will know how much you buy and what calibers. Nobody can sell any ammunition after June 30, 2009 unless the ammunition is coded. Any privately held un coded ammunition must be destroyed by July 1, 2011. (Including hand loaded ammo.) They will also charge a .05 cent tax on every round so every box of ammo you buy will go up at least $2.50 or more! This legislation is currently pending in 18 states: Alabama, Arizona, California, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, Mississippi, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Washington. To find more about the anti-gun group that is sponsoring this legislation and the specific legislation for each state, go to: http://ammunitionaccountability.org/Legislation.htm
