  1. Can someone please explain this to me? The insurance company wants a copy of the survey. What is it and how do I get it done?
  2. There is a way to do it still. I will see if I can find the info again, and post it here.
  3. I have been giving a lot of thought to doing the afternoon-evening trips. Last year we had more fish and less Sun related problems (sun burn, dehydration issues) by leaving the dock at 3 or 4 in the afternoon. By then the hottest part of the day is past and it seemed to make for a much more enjoyable time. And the fish sure didn't mind !
  4. Most of you have seen me here on the boards, but, now I am a captain. I am working out of Mentor Lagoons, Ohio. Presently have a 24' SportCraft. In the process of upgrading to a 26' Penn Yan. Come on fishin time... Bill.
  5. Well I finally did it, I went and got my Captains License. And as my luck and planning go, the gas prices are on the rise. Oh well hopefully with some good planning and hard work, I can break even.
  6. Yeah Rich, take a drive over and see us. I know between the two of us we can get you into some fine walleye fishing.
  7. Welcome to the site George. Great bunch of people here. Lot's of info and friendships to be made. Enjoy your stay, Bill.
  8. I just got a 26' PennYan with soft top. But, I am building my own arches for rod racks, lights, antenna's etc. I really like the soft top, I can get in out of the sun or rain, and I don't have to worry about knocking myself out if I forget to duck when entering the cabin area.
  9. I have a transducer and cable ONLY (has the speed wheel) for a fish hawk 840. If anyone can use this, let me know. We can work out a price.
  10. OK Everyone, I finally got some results. (I've been busy, sorry) I tried these swivels, and I could NOT get them to break! ! When I attempted to do a pull test on them, all I managed to do was get the loop, where you lure would be hooked up, NOT to open. Instead of coming open, the wire "cross lock" slid down the wire forming a very small loop at the bottom. BUT, It did NOT come open ! ! ! I tested these buy, placing the snap (lure end) over a nail, and exerting approx: 100# of force on them. And instead of opening or breaking apart, the wire simply reformed itself into a smaller loop. I feel pretty good about these, and I will be using them on my boats tis year. I hope this saves some money for you guys. Bill.
  11. Frank, I am truly sorry to hear that you lost a friend. Express our condolences on to the family.
  12. "Penalties on the fish are five times higher than in the past, increased from $10 to $50." Personally I think they should have gone from $10 to $500 per. Let them know real fast, you poach you pay!
  13. I just tried it with IE and worked good
  14. Ray, here is something that helps with IE. Are you getting error messages when trying to D/L files from the site? Then try this: Zip Fix For IE Users To fix zip problem using ie do this Go to Internet Options and choose the Advanced tab. Under Settings, find the “Use HTTP 1.1†setting. Uncheck this setting and Apply.
  15. With PowerPro, I have I think pushed it to the limit. I usually reverse it every other year. Plus I change it out when it starts to get short, from breaks and tangles.
  16. Hahaha, he is ordering more as of last night. Guess his wife hasn't found that NEW CC yet.
  17. Mike, glad to hear you got the cables changed, I ended up using a torch on mine, and had to melt the nut out of the aluminum housing. The guy that had it prior to me had it all stripped out.
  18. Well I guess that makes me "an angry white man"
  19. Put me in for one of them "Bird Dogs"
  20. Hi Everyone, I wasn't sure if I should post this in the forums, so here it is. http://stores.ebay.com/DollarFishing_W0QQssPageNameZstrkQ3amefsQ3amesstQQtZkm This guy has all kinds of different sizes and types of snaps and snap swivels. These are NOT those cheap Wal-Mart types. These are look-a-like to Sampo's. I order a pack of 100 #48 pound test in black... These are really nice ! ! And at .35 cents each including shipping, you can't go wrong. And Yes I am in the process of testing these for strength and endurance. Gonna torture some of them here at home, in the shop with a scale and see how well the hold up. Let me know what you guys think. Bill.
  21. Jason, Please extend best wishes to your wife. Sorry to hear about the accident. But, the best thing about that, is that you still have each other. Bill.
  22. Dan, That's what friends are for. To keep you in practice and fish, while your laid up. Hope you have a speedy recovery. Bill.
  23. You are correct Frank, here on Erie it's the same. I tell the guys when we are out at night, "as soon as the sun hit's the water, get ready!"
  24. Rich, I like to fish daytime at least till it starts to get hot in July. Then I like to switch over and go out about 3 in the afternoon. Sun is not cooking me, like it does in the morning.
