  1. my oldest son got these off the sliders this AM - he didn't have PUG but I do believe everything was 80-130ft down
  2. PUG thanks you for the report strange setup with all this warm water for sure -- or maybe it is normal for August and we've just been spoiled
  3. 1for4 between 105fow-118fow direction = insignificant white paddle green fly = very good water warm top to bottom so best bet was to run riggers down 115 and low divers out 190 and high divers at 300 heartbreak because we fought and had 3 huge kings come off behind the boat each after 20min hook pulled big white paddle in rigger white spin dictor on deep diver glow green splatter jplug on copp300 after dark
  4. great job especially considering all of the variables at play! thanks for the report. any idea of they are still going to have the Waypoint tourney this weekend in tall seas?
  5. good to the last drop - nothing like ending with a BIG one! congrats on a fantastic morning
  6. wow littleboat what port are you out of!? Coho spin a lot and at least for us cause the types of problems you other guys have referenced - nice flock of decent size Coho this year too!
  7. good luck! yesterday the morning bite didn't really get going til 830am
  8. PUG left Holland harbor at around 8pm and ran way south to the waters off Saugatuck that were fruitful this morning Had a different set of kids onboard Everything that could've gone wrong setting lines did and we didn't even get everything in the water til 8.40pm and even at that we lost both full core not to long into the effort Ended up 4for4 though with some nice behemoth built ones, the kind PUG really likes! copp350 sizer green ladder jplug 10color size4 green ladder jplug Mag size hulk on dipsey out 90ft copp300 normal size green hulk spoon Seas were far rougher than anticipated. All our action came in that 89-93fow big king was on the 10color and was a male measuring 38 inches so just shy of master angler stars were beautiful tonight - feels like fall... probably no trolling til at least Monday!? just pulled up weather and wow the lake is going to get rough and turn over! 20240807_213546.mp4

  9. nice heading your way! gonna set lines at around 8pm with 3 other kids to try the sunset bite! just heard u on radio haha
  10. and this is the old school scaley green plug that went 10 times this morning... we were kinda in disbelief that it seemed like all they wanted. At one point we had 4 of them out. Took many fish on 5color, 10color, and cop350. Broke off 2 --> stinking coho spin and tangle harness! if you have any old school green ladder that oughta bark too PUG says...
  11. thanks guys when you go tonight my best advice would be to go light on spoons and meat since it never really went but to run spinnies chrome with green fly and dig out some green jplugs also with the way the lake is flipping I doubt you'll wanna fish deeper than 100fow especially coming into sunset... shoot in a couple days this pack of fish might be right in the piers - hopefully so because I think we are going Friday night
  12. lake finally settled down so at 5.30AM PUG took 3 boys and I south outta Hollland down off sliders and in front of Saugatuck 60fow at 6.02AM we got a big one on 5color drop weight size5 scaley green jplug very quiet the next 90min found em then in that 94-97 fow and just pegged away on them for a couple hours we were 9 for 9 going for a perfect 10 Olympic style but lost 3 in a row and PUG got grumpy for a bit combos that worked: scaley green size5 or size3 or size4 jplug took over half of our bites - if you have one run one they didn't really want spoons except halfameal on cop300 went a couple times chrome spindocter and green fly went a bunch too hit em as deep as copp350 (aka 80down) and as high as 5color (aka 20down) so spread throughout water column for sure but still very much concentrated in that mid-90s depth fish turning dark and starting to get ready to run! my one son turned 14 yesterday and PUG wasn't going to stop til we hit 14 20240807_101808.mp4
  13. 16for20 will try to report later 94-97fow throughout water column south off Saugatuck is where PUG prevailed
  14. we didn't make it out tonight - wind didn't back off in time - will give it a whirl at sunrise though and hopefully have something to report
  15. good times despite the weather and give you a lot of credit for trying PUG wants us to go out tonight... we will see!
  16. great job & thanks for all the details
  17. Tall seas but that made success all the sweeter when it eventually came… Went 3 for 4 Started straight out of Holland – ended up way south by Saugatuck Zig-zagged between 140FOW and 110FOW, trying all sorts of different angles in the 4-5ft waves and current until eventually shortly after sunset got our chance Copper350 with white spindoctor & white fly went – came off High dipsey out 190 with showtime spindoctor and blue fly went – 21# King Rigger slider went about 58 down with thriller moonshine glow RV spoon – 8# King 5 Color went with size5 scaley green jplug (not we had a small 4 ounce drop weight on this line too to get it down to approx 30ft) – 20# King All the bites we got here on Friday night happened between 109FOW and 117FOW for whatever it is worth No bites on meat tonight Would’ve probably caught several more but had to deal with some tangles and problems with the gear in that 9.30PM-10.30PM money hour and just couldn’t get all the baits we normally use out there working for us PUG he was especially satisfied in the end and that is what counts!
  18. thanks for the report - CONGRATS on your success this morning!
  19. thanks guys I guess they are slaying em out off GH this morning on Fowl Hooked but much further offshore... not even able to see land (attached is pic of my oldest son's cooler) they have a 28# PUG may go again Friday night depending on weather... please post reports in interim
  20. set lines at 8pm directly out of Holland bite had slowed some we could tell and was understaffed with grown ups but still PUG managed to go 6for15 missed 1 on rigger 62 down glow spoon while setting in 130fow south troll and soon after missed 2 more on dipseys with spindocter copp350 glow spoon got the big one at 9pm in 102fow north troll took 50min to land - 41inch male chinook while fighting had both riggers go with monster fish 38 down and 52 down but lost both = heartbreak! got chubby laker on dipsey missed one on copp250 glow spoon 5color scalley green size5 jplug with 4ounce drop weight starts screaming - nice big king eventually got it missed many more on riggers in the darkness landed one on dipsey with moonshine glow mag got last nice king at 1045pm on 10color mag moonshine and headed in 20240730_223749.mp4
  21. good to hear from you again
  22. excellent trip! very similar to what we encountered last 3 nights we have run down from Holland to either off Saugatuck or south of Saugatuck and reading how you walloped em of South Haven only further suggests that these big fish arr holding up nicely down south
