  10. Most of the big fish ive taken this year has been and hour or so after sunrise and just before the sun sets.have caught more big fish this year than last year and ive used only spoons.speed has been 2.4 to 2.8 using a fish hawk.also most have been between 85fow and 110fow and have fished mainly out of port sheldon.i have a smaller boat and will only troll with the waves.hope this helps.good luck.
  11. Cory my advise is learn what depth youre equipment is getting youre lures to and adjust them just above by 3-5 feet of what youre marking on youre fish finder.also you need to know what speed youre running at the lure depth.i recommend a fish hawk.this will help get you in the ball park.
  12. Yeah cant say that i didnt knod off myself once or twice on sunday, those waves rock you to sleep every time.
  13. went 4 for 5 out of port Sheldon all kings with largest being 23 lbs. started out at 5:30 and fished to 9:30 went straight out of pier and went on a north west troll at 2.4 to 2.8 speed between 90fow to 110fow running 6 lines 2-down riggers 2-dipseys 1-10 color lead core and 1-300 ft copper.what worked. 2-kings 1-18lbs and the big one at 23lbs off 10 color lead core using dw mag spoon da shiznit. 1-king 20 lbs downrigger set at 52ft with 32ft of line back using ss spoon flounder pounder. 1-king 5lbs that we let go for next year on down rigger set at 45ft and 30 ft line out on ss spoon dr.death. lost 1 on dipsey set at 75 feet back using a mag spoon watermelon. besides the 1 hour and 15 minute rough ride back to port had a great day.
  14. Thats correct its about 3 feet at launch however you need to watch youre graph, there is a narrow channel more towards the south side of pigeon lake that you need to stay in or else youll beach youre boat if you stay towards the power plant side.it gets deeper about half way out of lake so go slowwww till than.good luck fishing ill be heading out saturday night and sunday moring so post how you did.
  15. Hey gary thanks for report heading out saturday hope you left us a couple.
  16. Thanks for report, heading out saturday hope water temps stay put.
  17. Just spoons only for the same reason would tangle.also spoons and j plugs run at differant boat speeds so you would defeat the purpose of using two differant types of lures, the action of lure would be off.
  18. Ran north out of port sheldon half way to grand haven and turned sw towards holland.set first line at 7;00 am and ran 6 lines 2-dipsyses,2-riggers,1-300 copper and 1-lead core. What worked. Speed 2.6 to 2.8 went 3-4 1-5lbs king on lead core using a blue dolphin mag spoon. 1-18lbs king on dipsey set at 125ft using a mix veg. Mag spoon. 1-20lbs king on down rigger set at 52ft using a dr.death ss spoon. Lost one on a dispey set at 145 using a carmel dolphin around 11;00 started troll in 100fow and worked out to 190fow with all fish taken between the 152fow to 180fow.all fish taken were between 7;30 till 9;00 am. Than shut right down till started to pull lines at 11;00 when 1 hit port side dipsey.had a great time and no flies!
