  1. Well looks like I'm going to have to change my search to 16-18 instead of 14. So far not much to choose from. Thanks for all the info so far.
  2. Thanks for some good starting points. Any other info feel free to post including what to stay away from. Thanks guys
  3. Seriously thinking of getting an aluminum boat and looking for some starting input. Uses: perch, early and late season fishing (including areas with no dock), and to pull longer distances to troll for salmon and or eyes. something that can handle somewhat the big lake and fairly stable to sit and fish. Thinking about 14-16' and wide. 5-10K depending on how much I need to add to get it set up. Any info on what to start looking at and what to stay away from including the outboard? Is oil injected good or bad? Might use inland also. Thanks
  4. I have a center console ProSport 18 and overall I love it. But the smaller cc has very limited space in back so its best if others sit up front (great view of the rods but not as nice to "chat" while fishing). and as others said limited storage and no protection. It fishes great, handles the lake very well up to 2 or 3's depending on how steep. For fishing alone it works super but gets crowded when trying to carry 2 others and all the extra poles. Gotta say though, I do love the boat. Because I bought a larger glass boat for trolling I'm likely going to sell this one though if I find the right aluminum boat as I hope to get into more perch fishing and also for easier launching when there is no dock.
  5. Thank you and a second Merry Christmas to all.
  6. Not sure which forum for this but marine general has the x-4 on sale for 499 right now if anyone is considering it.
  7. Wonder if it pushed them in, and or starting in the rivers?
  8. Well all this has got me excited to try and get out again next week but I have Wed and Fri off and the weather doesn't look to hot for Wed. Let me know if you get out if they're still out in 120-140

  10. Yup-spyglass around noon. I just thought the way the wave looks like its eating the end of the pier was cool. Also spyglass has live streaming now so you don't need to watch a slide show.
  11. Any one for fishing the end of the Holland Piers today?
  12. very nice. my solo trip out of Holland was a tough one in a 16' boat but did manage 2. Nice job on the fish.
  13. Always seems to blow on my day off but managed 2 steelies. Very bumpy and windy but a nice day. One on a 5 color easter egg, and 1 on a rigger about 60 down. Fresh fish on the grill one last time this year
  14. Hope you can make it on Wed. I'm planning on it and hoping to get a rider to come along. 1 prospect so far. Looking forward to it. If you go tomorrow let me know how you do. I'm debating on which port yet but leaning toward saugy or PS
  15. I have a few times (birds not bats) but never got a neat video like that. I had them hopping around the rails eating small insects off the rails.
  16. I hope its OK to look here for info for cleaning a truck. Looking for a good place/person to put paint sealer and wax on my truck. Not a full detail just wash, seal, and wax. Truck is fairly new and in clean shape now. Maybe protect seats with something as well. Any recommendations?
  17. Run Lake trout stuff and you should have no trouble getting fish. I'd fish deep. We got 9 in 250' of water just north of Holland on Wed. 3 were steel and 1 coho, rest Lakers without trying for them.
  18. Took the slow route to 250 Wed am with no takers till about 247. Then went 9 for 9 in 250. Still lots of greasers though with only 3 steel head and 1 Coho but the cooling water temps should help. Lots of big marks in 130 but radio sounded like a very slow bite there. most fish were hanging about 95 down.
  19. My glass center console works great in cold weather. Had it out once it was so cold the docks were frozen from the trailers pulling out. I fell walking on it and another boat slid off its trailer as the guy was slipping backing down the ramp.
  20. 150 copper, mag diver on 2 back 135-about 50-60 down, and 250 copper bite was from crack of dawn till maybe 8? then they went west and the bait disappeared then also.
