  1. just awesome , guessing your fishing every day. Very impressive amount of kings.
  2. Like Jalenskis in Kenosha best place I have found, just a little drive for me.
  3. my 2 cents, salmon are a cold water fish . Unlike bass and northern, musky. Salmon will survive in 40 water just fine . for other warmer water cold blooded fish they will just about hibernate.
  4. All fish are cold blooded but you have fish that are on the warmer side (bass, bluegil, northern, musky,) then you have cold water fish such as Salmon. which perfer colder water much colder. and seek much more food to maintain them selfs.
  5. The biggest thing I can come up with is the winds at that time of year, Most of them are from the east , northeast. which would stack up your warm water down near Waukegon. Do you remember this summer when we had temps in the 50's near shore and out 5-10 miles it was 60-68'. The wind and currents have alot to due with where the warm and cold water is. Our first Coho's came out in 125FOW, 30 feet down. In early May. The most important part is finding the forage fish . Won't matter what temp you have , if you have no food for the big guys they won't hang around. I can only tell you what I have learned, so lets see if someone has more to put in here.
  6. And the key to saving the alewives is to get rid of the zebra muscles and all of the invasive species that are screwing up the the food web.
  7. I too have both of his videos and both of his books, The second book "Keating on Kings" goes way beyond what is covered in the videos and first book. Watching his videos and reading his first book make it seem easy , then you get into his last book and it adds new dementions to what he has taught you. If you want the best price order it from his website.
  8. Mark were you running all spoons? how deep were you fishing in? what type of baits were you running? (I'm going stir crazy Mark , thats why all the questions. At lease the doc said I didn't have to where the cervical collar anymore.)
  9. I am thankful for the knowledge God helped me find and the time I was able to spend fishing with my family.
  10. wouldn't even have to worry about disengaging the autopilot .Just feed it a beer once in a while.
  11. at that price you could hire someone to steer the boat
  12. when you clip it on the release don't use the same spot all the time, less ware on the backing
  13. Could you share that reel calculator with us if possible or maybe a link?
  14. wish I could get at least 100 perch, spent very little time on the perch this year, but did manage many large fish. Great Job for the year. Hope you saved some perch for the long cold winter.
  15. Maybe I'll or my wife will have to suffer for a while. sounds like a great unit though
  16. there is something you don't see every day , Nice pictures
  17. I use them on the more action hole . and I attach a cross lock snap to the end of the leader , so if i change a fly it only takes a few seconds.
  18. Ok here is a question for you guys , how small of a boat will an AP work on , how does it interface with the gps? Is it cost prohibitive on a 17ft boat? My wife also does not want to drive the boat, she would rather bead or read or fish.
  19. we really need the fish porn now as most of us put our boats away for the season.
  20. running the lighter weights from march to the end of april
  21. What type of baits are you using while you are shore fishing? are you fishing on a river?
  22. In the spring I will run 8lb weights as we are targeting shallow fish, as the weather warms up and the Kings and Coho start to show up we switch to 12lb balls. No reason to run heavy weights in the spring as we are only trolling in 30-35 fow.
  23. Do they have teeth on the inside of the clamp, if not I would drill a hole in the clamp and add a set screw of some kind . I have some that mount on the rail and they have some pretty large teeth so that they don't rotate, and run dipseys and they stay put. In the photo I'm running lead core but I will be adding one more on each side as my inside rod holders don't get low enough for the dipsey rods.
  24. Sweet, how deep do you have to go to pick up fish like that. What did you catch it on ? How cold is it , you always have winter clothing on.
  25. I find that hard to believe that they don't have you size. t shirts are available to me in sizes up to 6x and in most sweat shirts to 4 or 5 x. You may have to call them. From a pricing stand point there is alot of difference from a XL to a 3x or 5x.
