  1. most shirts are 4-5 colors, plus a base of white if the shirt is to go on a light color. at one time I was thinking of getting a screen printing setup but I wouldn't have room in the garage for the boat, so I decided not to .Back to your question, yes and no, you would have to find someone with a press big enough to do more than 5-6 colors , and I am sure that the price would go up considerably at that point. Every time we are at a trade show we get a shirt that has been done with direct to garment and the first ones didn't last very long and faded pretty bad. They have improved them I am sure. Just something to watch for. The easiest to describe it is a giant printer and the shirt runs though it. Special inks are required. and the shirt can't be 100% cotton. There can be problems with any of the processes to decorate garments. What we do (Jans Embroidery) is the obvious Embroidery and heat transfer graphics , cut on a vinyl cutter. and Vinyl lettering. My wife just finished the second part of an order for the shop I work at , it was about 110 pieces .Here are some photos , the base ball team is Embroidery , and the rest are digital cut graphics applied with heat press. You can see in the last photo that colors can be mixed but is more suited for single colors . This type will out last the garment it is applied to.
  2. wish I could get out there , doc says nothing over 7lbs to lift. and boat is still ready to go . oh well next year. Very nice job Brian.
  3. Josh how are those shirts holding out? I believe the process they are using is what is called direct to garment, if that is what they are using (check your shirts) you will have a cotton blend shirt, If not its a design transfer . either way will not last as long as screen printing. Yes screen printing can get expensive and usually there is a minimum, Mike if your looking for screen printing let me know and I will shoot some links your way , there is also another process and its done with screen printing, its a heat transfer and its done in full color, but you would need access to a heat press to applie the transfer. There are a few ways to do what you are asking about , it just depends how long you want the printing to last. Will the garment be washed inside out ? will it be dryed in a dryer . too much to list here.
  4. Last spring my son and I fished the harbor , mostly near south shore and did really well on the browns.
  5. there's not a whole lot you can do aside from painting/clear coating the finish. your present finish is failing , as the sun and the atmosphere eat at the paint it fails , not enough UV protection , waxing will help prevent it from failing sooner, you will have to do this every 30-60 days to make it last .. or you could re-clear it , (almost the same as painting.) But if you go to this point you should just repaint it and then add a good clear coat. Are you graphics fading? . what color is you boat? Most boats are white, are your stripes fading ? Can you show us a picture?
  6. Let me know on that Josh , I may be interested then.
  7. For Lead core I run the Classic pro's XP452 and XP302. They work really well. I do like the CV45D much better but at quite the difference in price. The clickers on the CV45s are much louder. For your rods if you want cheep with good quality try the Diawa wilderness rods, have a bunch of them and they performed great this year. The classic pro rods are very similar to the diawas. Just cost a bit more. I do like the triangle shape on the foregrip though. Makes it easyer to hold onto the rod. Here is a shot with a xp302 and a xp452 , very nice looking reels. Tight Lines Jim
  8. I was talking with a charter captain and he told me that it is very important that when you twist the copper that both sides of the copper are twisted ,not one around the other. He also told me that I should keep my leadcore because there will be days that the fish won't touch the copper or wire, But will take leadcore.
  9. Steve I'm not a fan of ganders rods, or cabelas for that matter, for 75.00 you can get Okuma Blue Diamond rods instead. I just setup 2 rods with the blue diamond and CV45Ds very nice setup. 700-800ft of 80# braid and 500ft of wire. Just make sure you get the (MH) rods. mine are 8'6" . and should work well right next to my 10'6" braid divers. You can get the rods and reels here. http://stores.ebay.com/BRETTS-PLACE-ON-THE-BAY http://stores.channeladvisor.com/bretts Some good deals here. Questions just let me know. 2011 will be my first year with copper and wire. On my copper setup I am using magpros 45dx and Diawa 8'6" wilderness rods. again make sure you use the (MHR) .
  10. Ken by your pictures it looks like your using some #12 copper electric wire. Nice pictures, is the super copper finer than the 45, I know you guys use this all the time , but from a newbies perspective it doesn't look like it will hold up. (haywire twist). Did you add some shrink tube to the twist? Does it get through the guides ok?
  11. would you tie the same knots in copper? Don't have any copper yet. Just rigged one wire rod tonight. Have lots of time to rigg the rest.
  12. Thanks Aaron , very nice with the pictures.
  13. I'll try to make this the last question on this topic, how or what kind of knot do you use to tie on a dipsey to wire. I have figured out the albright knot. and can get a backer on for the wire. Is it possible to use crimps to make a loop and use a crosslock snap?
  14. are you going to smoke that one or just grille it?
  15. Good luck with that Josh, Keep an eye on your jack stands, all the vibration may loosen them up. What kind of sander are you using for the task? When we used to to large jobs like that we would use a 9" sander. Cuts down on the time .Also builds up you chest muscles.
  16. I'm in just need a smooth road.
  17. Looks like a very nice Brown, Nice and silver too.
  18. I don't think you can do it that way Jimmy, All the lines need to be the same length.
  19. I have the Blacks, I have used the band buster that comes with bigjons and I didn't care for them one bit.I have also used Cannon pinch pad releases. of the three I would go with the blacks Hands down. You can Adjust the tension for the release to suit your needs. Also they won't break the bank.
  20. wow thats foul......................Great Job!!!!
