  1. Welcome to site!
  2. Welcome aboard Jason!
  3. A warm welcome Steve!
  4. Thanks Joe. I forgot you have to text to the same phone number for the Lud bouy too. Put the bouy number in the message. I have it stuck in my phone so I just keep replying to it with just entering the bouy number everytime I want an update. Hey Justin, I made a slight edit to your post and added " and text" to your subject line. Some guys who are not aware of this might appreciate this info.
  5. Do you have text service on the Holland bouy? On the Ludington bouy, you can send a text to the bouy number...45024 and in 20 seconds or so, you get a text back with the bouy's current readings. Great when you are not by a computer.
  6. Charles, they'll get them, so don't give up. I have never turned a head in and not gotten a plant slip back from the DNR. That is why they use freezers, those heads will be fine in there for months. They don't do any of the work on the heads until winter anyways, all the techs and biologists are working outdoors in our streams and lakes this time of year. They'll be sitting in the freezers for months regardless. I always find it interesting to learn when and where they planted the fish we catch. Got a king off St Joe planted in the Ausable before.
  7. Nice job Tony! Fishing is improving in Ludington, got 11 on Sunday. When you coming over?
  8. Some nice kings there Frank!
  9. It was tough for us Saturday working inside waters from 100 to 180 of water off the project, we hit 5 and boated 2. Not much going on anywhere inside up and down the coast. We went offshore on Sunday and did much better 12 miles SW of Ludington. We worked 400-450 ft of water, top 60 ft. Lot's of cohos and jumping steelies out there. We hit 17 boated 11 and kept 10. Best was a Yeck Jerid on a full core and a 150 copper. Blue bubble spin doctor and blue bubble fly on low mag divers out 130 ft. A Yeck red laser on a high diver out 80ft. Riggers at 40 and 50 ft. A Pro king fireball was best on them on a free slider. A half core with a streak ludington watermellon and a 250 copper with a yeck lemon ice. We got one nice king on the blue bubble. All the rest were nice cohos and steelies.
  10. This is a MDNR video explaining the new DMU's in southern MI.
  11. Another awesome catch Frank!
  12. Congratulations on a nice catch and the win!
  13. Thanks for the report.
  14. Welcome Ted!
  15. Welcome to GLF!
  16. I get a bunch every year and turn them in. Here is a link to a recovery form, fill that out, put it in a small zip lock to protect it and then put it in the same bag as the head. There is a list of drop off locations in the link too. They will send you a letter on where it was planted and give out free lures too as a reward. Now that they are tagging all planted fish, not sure if they will have lures for every head turned in. I keep the forms, a tape measure and scale with my cleaning tools so I can package the heads and forms when cleaning fish. http://www.michigan.gov/dnr/0,1607,7-153-10364_52259_48361-180624--,00.html
