  1. That was a nice hunt!
  2. It is now law for 3 pts a side in the NW 12 counties in MI. The new proposal is for 4 a side in southern MI. I think enforcement will be no different than it is now for antler restrictions we have with combo tags. It is really going to come down to ethical sportsman following the rules. The vast majority do but there will always be some poachers. The first year will be tougher when people are forced to apply some trigger restraint but I think people will be amazed at the results in years 2, 3 and forward. Letting small bucks grow just one extra years really makes a difference. Your post proves it and I've seen it first hand where I hunt. State land hunters will reap the benefits too that currently only private land hunters can manage to get now.
  3. It might be fun but that has got to be darn cold this time of year when the whitefish are in. I liked the video.
  4. Looks like a great season, you got some nice bucks there! I'm hoping the LPDMI proposal passes too. Surveys are in the mail now. Deer hunting will be so much more exciting with more 2-1/2 year old + bucks out there.
  5. Great catch to end the season!
  6. We fish the St Joe and Kzoo a lot in the winter.
  7. Great buck Mike!
  8. Nice catch!
  9. I love it, hope I can put the big shanty out this year. I could not put it out last year due to ice thickness. Here's some pics from my gallery going back some past years. I like this kind of "ice" fishing during the winter a lot too: Don't let this be you:no: It was just a drill on my lake Good luck this season!
  10. That's a real nice buck!
  11. Thanks for the report Frank!

  20. Saw a picture on facebook, looks real nice. That is where I usually launch, probably won't be so empty in the future.
  21. Congratulations to both of you, what a special memory!
  22. Jason, A lot will depend on the wording/details of the contract you have with your previous company. If the issues you are dealing with now are not spelled out in your contract, the outcome might be a bit cloudy. If I were in your shoes, I'd contact and review it with a competent attorney. An initial consultation will not break the bank but if you have to pursure legal action to recover $6000, you won't have much left when done. Sometimes a letter from an attorney with a threat of legal action may get things moving without having to go to court. I hope this works out for you. If you are about to sign another contract with another company, might be a good idea to have a lawyer review that before you sign it. You can always negotiate terms of a contract. Make sure there is wording in it to protect you from a repeat of this situation with a new company. Maybe you will want to insert a line or two or delete a line or two to protect your long term interests.
  23. Nice job Bob, looked like NOAA was wrong.

  25. Hey Joel, the offshore forecast looks crappy for this weekend and that is most likely where the best fishing will be now. Was planning on sending you a PM with my phone if I was going to be out fishing in Ludington this weekend. If it is does not change by tomorrow, looks like I'm skipping this weekend. That is my plan every year after Labor Day, I wait till Friday, look at the forecast and go if it's decent and don't if it looks like this: FRIDAY NORTH WINDS 20 TO 25 KT DIMINISHING TO 10 TO 15 KT LATE. WAVES SUBSIDING TO 5 TO 8 FT OCCASIONALLY TO 12 FT. FRIDAY NIGHT NORTHEAST WINDS 10 TO 15 KT VEERING TO SOUTH. WAVES 4 TO 6 FT OCCASIONALLY TO 9 FT SUBSIDING TO 1 TO 3 FT LATE.
