  5. Welcome to GLF!
  6. Being on outdated software with no support is risky so it seems like the right thing to do during the off season. Hope you had a great Thanksgiving with your family Chad!

  8. Great pic Bob, was that from the Spyglass Hill cam? Chad, we have a link to it on the web cam tab here, looks like it is building since Bob posted his pic: http://spyglasshill.com/Webcam/netcam.jpg
  9. Not that I want to keep small fish but I'm not for it until we see the alewives rebound. Some people talk about "all the bait they are seeing on the graph or in the harbors at times." They are only observing a very small part of a really big lake. My answer to that is if we had all kinds of bait, why has the size of kings gone down? We know we had low king numbers this season so if we had lots of bait, we should have had lots of bigger fish and they were significantly smaller this year. I don't put 100% faith in our DNR but I still think we need to reduce predators and let the bait build up numbers or Lk. Mich will end up like Lk. Huron. I'm even more concerned that due to mussels, there won't be enough food for alewives to thrive regardless of how much predation we eliminate. Maybe there is nothing we can do to prevent a crash. I hope I'm wrong on this.
  10. I'd second an old Yeck too. The white back spoons don't seem to work as well compared to chrome backs in recent years with the clear water, at least on our boat.
  11. Nice catch Blake!
  12. Looks like a nice one, the fall runs sure look weak.
  13. Welcome to GLF!
  14. Very sad http://coastguardnews.com/coast-guard-suspends-search-for-missing-men-on-lake-michigan/2015/10/01/ CLEVELAND — Coast Guard crews suspended their search Thursday for two men who were reported overdue from a fishing trip on Lake Michigan Wednesday. Missing are Chris Patterson, 25, and Aaron Juarez, 33, aboard a 16-foot white and blue boat. The two men launched from Pigeon Lake boat launch in Port Sheldon, Michigan, early Saturday morning and have not been heard from since. “Due to the amount of time that has elapsed since the two men departed on their fishing trip and the excellent search conditions our crews experienced over the course of our searches, we have made the difficult decision to suspend active search efforts,” said Capt. Amy Cocanour, the commander of Coast Guard Sector Lake Michigan in Milwaukee. “We offer our sincere condolences to the families and loved ones affected.” After receiving notification of the missing boaters, the Coast Guard conducted a total of 23 searches, covering an area of nearly 3,800 square nautical miles of Lake Michigan, and used nine different boats and aircraft in the search. Involved in the search were: a 47-foot response boat from Coast Guard Station Grand Haven, Michigan; four Dolphin helicopters from Coast Guard Air Stations Traverse City, Michigan, and Detroit; an HC-144A Ocean Sentry fixed wing aircraft from Coast Guard Air Station Cape Cod, Massachusetts; an HC-130J Super Hercules fixed wing aircraft from Coast Guard Air Station Elizabeth City, North Carolina; and a Royal Canadian Air Force C-130 Hercules from 8 Wing/CFB Trenton, Ontario. Also involved were units from the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department and the Wyoming Police Department, conducting land-side shoreline searches and a search of Pigeon Lake. Anyone with information regarding this search is asked to contact the Coast Guard Sector Lake Michigan command center at 414-747-7190.
  15. Sent you a PM Ron. Dan, I brought the boat home so last troll for us. No mature kings for us and anyone at the cleaning station when I was there. It will be interesting to hear the Little Manistee weir count, bet it will be real low, hope they get enough eggs this year.
