  1. Anything is possible with sliders, we run 12ft leaders on our sliders. We have a leaders man with all riggers so its not really a problem controlling the fish. 6-7 ft is norm for sliders
  2. For some ungodly reason I dont know why they dont let charter boats carry flare guns
  3. You wont be disappointed, Jeff makes a awesome product that will withstand anything. Wait till the new colors come out to public, something short of awesome.
  4. I know of a few of charters that use the wilderness rods for their spring browns rods. They use them for a month every year and that's only at the max of 5-8 trips. If they have a double purpose, personally I would get TDRs, if not, wilderness would be fine personally.
  5. I put a spring scale ever spring, to test make sure that everything is still strong.
  6. UVs were hot as well for us too, UV in Green and blue dolphin, yellow tux, mixed veggie were my best 4 new ones. The Stinger Uv gator flasher was also a good one with Raptures Trolling Flies, Illusion. That was the new stuff that was good last year.
  7. Just like normal, my high divers are mag divers and have had them out 300+, put a 450 copper on a big board, no problem at all.
  8. More of the action of the spoon then the colors it's self.
  9. Ill try to have mother nature send some down, im getting tried of drilling threw 12-14 inches for one hole.
  10. Had this talk the other day with a friend of mine but it was a lake Michigan, lake Michigan difference. I grew up fishing Ludington-Manistee, everyone there leaves way early(0430-0530), still plenty dark when we are setting up and hit fish in the dark too. The experience that happens in Grand Haven, from most of the charter boats is, they leave dock at 6am-6:30 all the time, no need rush out there. They say the early bite is later down there "most of the time"
  11. Welcome Eric, an awesome event that the tight lines for troops tournament is. I fished on the Killin' Time for a couple years. Where are you slipped?
  12. Lots of ice in Grand Haven, good to be back near the water also.
  13. Give Captain Dana on the Danel a call, fishes a awesome looking 33ft Trojan out of Grand Haven at Chinook Pier. Accommodate from doing nothing to help setting rods. www.fishgh.com
  14. Captain Craig Kent of Killin' Time Charters from Manistee, Mi will also being doing a seminar on, fishing Manistee.
  15. Nice job Ed!!! Beats a day of sitting in the house.
  16. Don't be afraid to ask those guys at the swap meet any questions with the booths selling things. I know there is some real good charter captains that will be there from Chinook Pier that will help you with anything you want to know.
  17. Personally I like skin off for everything, smoking, grilling ect. I dont like that mud in the fish. With customer it is usually a 75/25 mix of skin off to skin on
  18. Iv ran walleye boards with 400 copper, putting the board on a +2 setting, having high divers out 200+.
  19. I wanna know, why can't I do projects like this in my classes, it would keep me from day dreaming about summer time and big kings.
  20. Thanks for posting, it is helping the winter time blues.
