  6. First report for walleye 2013. Fishing SUCKED. one fish 17 inches. and a bunch of silver bass. My dad and Brother went and it was Evans first real fishing trip. He had a blast reeling in the silver bass. and want me to keep every one we caught. I ended up keeping six for him. We were about for about five hours today and the last hour he was stating to get bored so we pulled lines and headed in. First fish i went to clean my electric fillet knife died so i grabbed my 6 inch knife. Slipped making the first cut and right into the palm of my hand. Blood everywhere and couldn't get it to stop. I drove the point in pretty good. Oh well hopefully better tomorrow. I will have to upload pics of Evan reeling in his first silver bass.
  7. Not sure the truth in this but I talked to the old guy that owns morgans at the show a few years back when he first started selling it and he said that opti morgans and atomic are all the same line from the same factory from the same spooling machine. where howies was different in twist rate and not as heavy per foot.

  10. New Weather Buoy in Western Lake Erie (Monroe/Toledo) I just put out a new weather buoy as part of a special study this year. The buoy is located about 6 miles southeast of Monroe just north of the Toledo Harbor channel across the Ohio state line on the southeast corner of the open lake disposal area for the USACE. The data is availalbe here http://uglos.mtu.edu/station_page.php?station=45165 The buoy also has a camera on it to transmit images and video clips every 30 min. Here's a link to the images/video. http://www.limnotechdata.com/stations/Monroe/ You can also get the latest wind, wave, and water temp information by texting 45165 to 734-418-7299. This service also works for the weather station on Toledo Light #2 (thl01) or any other NDBC station. A list of active NDCB stations in the Great Lakes can be found here http://bit.ly/ndbcstations or a map of active stations can be found here http://www.ndbc.noaa.gov/obs.shtml Please DO NOT tie up to the buoy. It is not that forgiving and it is also illegal! Please don't hesistate to email me at everhamme at limno.com for more information on the buoy.
  11. I love my leds. I had people telling me in dright daylight my trailer lights weent working Put in leds and now i light up the countryside. Even with the sun directly on them you can see them. Make sure you buy a better brand as the better ones are sealed better and have dampers in them attached to the circuit boards. We sold a couple different brands at the truck dealership i was at and hands down truck lite is the better lights to by. They also have them in different amounts of leds in the light. Buy the ones with as many leds as you can afford. The five led lights are not that bright. I have the ovals lights with the 14 leds and they are bright. Try finding a truck dealer like a kenworth or volvo dealer and you wll save money over buying them at a marine store. The light i got were 14 each at our dealership and the same light sold in marine packaging was 30 bucks each at gander. Here is the truck lite catalog so you can find whoch lights you want: http://www.truck-lite.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/GenericView?pageName=/resources/LitDownloadsCatalogs.jsp&storeId=10001&langId=-1
  12. Called the hotline ( 888-367-7060) today to see what the limit of fish is set at for this year. It has been set at 6 again for this year till april 30 2014.
  13. I agree completely. Use 375 or 400 degree oil and it melts the grease out of the fish dont reuse the oil. Bortells in ludington told us years ago about using the hottest oil you can get
  14. I use what ryan posted also. Walker has one same termination but has the blacks release built into it. They are ten bucks at cabelas. i tried one out on my probe rigger to try and get some stuff off the cable and will be buying them for my other riggers. I drilled out the rivit and did the connection like usint the trutrac one and it works great. one thing on the end of the cable. The nice thing about these is if you use crimps eventually the cable will break at the crimp these dont seem to have that problem(knock on wood). 15. Bob i went through this a couple years ago. I have insta trim tabs on my boat the big two companies are insta trim and bennet. I sent in the cylinders and they tested them, replaced one solonoid valve inside the pump rebuilt both cylinders replaced the filter screens and attached new hose for around 120 bucks i believe. They had me send in the pump motor and the cylinders. I had them back in a couple weeks from the day i shipped them out. I know bennett does the same thing not sure of the pricing for them, My dads boat had bennetts on it. You can compare the pics of the pump motor and figure out what companies tabs you have. http://www.insta-trim.com/ http://www.bennetttrimtabs.com/index.php
